December 22, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi All,NET users having problems with ASG errors need to:(1)Uninstall .Net(2)Reboot the computer(3)Re-install .NET Framework (1.1 or later)=====================================================================Microsoft .Net v1.1 or later (i.e. 2.0) is required for ActiveSky Graphics. Without it, it will not run and will provide an error message. You can get either version easily from http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com or see these direct links:.Net 1.1:http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com.Net 2.0:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=enThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
December 22, 200520 yr Which one should we get...which one is more stable with Win XP Home and FS9.1?? Eric
December 22, 200520 yr Hi Eric,I have another add-on that requires .NET 2.0 so that is what I have been using. The Beta team used both equally well. If you are installing fresh I suggest 2.0 because you will need it one day anyway.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
December 23, 200520 yr Add to that .NET 2.0 for Windows x64:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=enOr you can get it from Windows Update under "Software, Optional".
December 27, 200520 yr I have uninstalled .NET Framework Version 1.2, rebootede and installed .NET Version 2.I am still getting a message that suggests I should grant the application permsission using the Framework Configuration Tool. Sounds very good but I don't know how that should be done.Any suggestions?Andy bhttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannerbeta.jpg Andy Brockbank
December 27, 200520 yr >Which one should we get...which one is more stable with Win>XP Home and FS9.1??I have only installed v2 and have no problems at all. As far as I know, v2.0 is not fully downwards compatible with the v1.x version. I'm not a programmer, but this it what I've been told. So if another application requires v1.x, you might endup with both versions installed. Good to know is that the .Net required files will only be loaded in memory when an application calls for it. So just installing .Net framework does not affect your PC's performance.
December 27, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi Andy,Sounds like you have installed ASv6 to a remote location, probably the FS9 machine via FS9 path. It should be installed to the local wideFS PC, on a local hard drive. Otherwise you must use the control panel/admin tools/.Net config to add security rights, which is somewhat of a pain.Does this help?Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

PC B is the Wide FS machine (where ASv5 used to , and still does, sit). It's all too hard to sort out right now as my machines are about to be disassembled in preparation for my move from Queensland to Tasmania. I doubt I will be using it for at least 6 months and possibly as long as 12 months :( .It is not really crucial right now as FS10 plus ASv9 :-) will most likely have been released by then. Thanks anyway.RegardsAndy bhttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannerbeta.jpg Andy Brockbank
December 28, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi Andy,What is the specific error you are getting? Would be nice to get to the bottom of this! The suggestion for re-installing to the wideFS local drive is for those experiencing "Security" errors because ASG.exe is installed on a remote/network location and not on the local system where it is being run.If you are getting a "Performance process counter" problem, please try the SU1 update (topic now pinned) which should fix it.Best, Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

To grant this appliaction the required permission, contact your system administrator, or use the Microsoft .NET Framework Configuration tool.If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the aplication will close immediately.Request failed"When continue is clicked the ASG loads but is unusable.Andy bhttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannerbeta.jpg Andy Brockbank
December 28, 200520 yr OK - immediately after posting the last comment I set about uninstalling ASv6 with the intention of re-installing. I then had to go out and when I came back I found my FS system in pieces ready for packing. My dutiful friend and neighbour, under instructions from my wife, did the dirty deed and I am now FS-less and resorting to the laptop.Situation is now as fixed as it will ever be.Andy bhttp://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannerbeta.jpg Andy Brockbank
