January 9, 200620 yr My FS shadow preference is scenery shadow off, aircraft shadow on. With shadows on, they always appear regardless of the wheather. Would it be possible to add (yet another ;-)) option in AS to have auto switching on/off of separately scenery and aircraft shadows depending on the weather? I don't know if it's possible at all. If so, switching off/on shadows while in flight will probably cause severe stutters? Anyhow, I think it would be a nice feature that could improve FPS during bad weather (if shadows are on per default user setting). Maybe you guys can look into this?Kind regards,Henk-Jan
January 10, 200620 yr Hi,Pretty sure this is hard coded into FS04.Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6...development.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-proud.jpg http://sales.hifisim.com/pub-download/asv6-banner-beta.jpg
January 10, 200620 yr Author Hi Jim,I am talking about the two builtin options of FS2004: (1) enable/disable shadows cast by scenery objects and (2) enable/disable aircraft shadows. They can be found in the regular options screens of FS2004. I was wondering if AS can toggle those weather based.Kind regards,Henk-Jan
January 10, 200620 yr As these are put in the FS9.cfg file, I believe they'd only work if ASv6 changed the cfg file BEFORE FS loaded, much like cloud textures. After FS loaded, I don't believe changes to the cfg will show up.----------------------------------------------------------------John MorganReal World: KGEG, UND Aerospace Spokane Satillite, Private ASEL 141.2 hrs, 314 landings, 46 inst. apprs.Virtual: MSFS 2004"There is a feeling about an airport that no other piece of ground can have. January 10, 200620 yr Author Hi,Well, I'm not sure either. However, it IS possible to change the setting manualy while FS is running. Still, it could be worth looking into this...
