Metars seem old

Featured Replies

First off, love the program. Here's my problem. Today (Jan 18, about 1900 Z) I was flying on FS with AS2004 in Atlanta, where I live. Outside, the weather is lousy. In fact, it stopped me from flying in real life today. But the AS2004 Metar shows broken clouds at 250, nor 009 and 012 like it is in real life. So, i look at the time, and it says Jan 16 for the AS2004 Metar. Why so old, can i get the program to download Metars elsewhere?

Hello,I've been using AS2004 all day today and yesterday and have data that is up to date. Under options please double check and see if Online Updates is checked ON. Please let us know!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Hi,I have the same problem. I've just downloaded current weather which is 222000Z but I'm receiving metars dated 15th as follows :KJFK 151651Z 33010KT 10SM FEW025 SCT070 M11/M17 A2987 RMK AO2 SLP115EGLL 151650Z 20015KT 9999 BKN016 OVC035 09/06 Q0997 NOSIGI've tried a couple of other stations with the same result.I can't use online updates as my Flight Sim PC isn't connected to the internet so I download weather.

Hi,You downloaded a file from 22 but the Metar reports 15? It sure sounds like your active file isn't properly set. Did you refresh if you manually downloaded from the main interface? This may be the problem.. A refresh is not automatic when using the download/load file features from the main interface (it IS automatic when used from the options interface - an inconsistency which I will fix).Does this help?Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg

FS,After you saved the .dat file and have it on your FS computer do you use the "load WX" button on the Options page to load the updated .dat file?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Hi,Thanks for your quick replies. I have refreshed and used "load WX" but the metars still report 15.

Hi,btw, I've just downloaded current (231200Z) and received exactly the same metars dated 15 which I downloaded yesterday!

I just tried and got todays files. FS, please list the steps you use. Then I'll take a look and see where you might be going wrong. Seems to me your set from the 15th is still the active set. Please give me as much detail as you can! Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
