Activesky file name?

Featured Replies

Hi - what's the file name for the downloaded version of Activesky 2004? I got it from SimMarket a while back and forgot where I put it on my computer too many drives and files scattered all over the place). I want to search for it... but what's the file name?BTW it would be easier to re-download it from SimMarket... but they instead want to charge me again for the file... even though they acknowledge I purchased it from them in December. Charlie,Not real sure here, but search for a zip called as2004. Another Simmarket user will know for sure.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support

Hi Charlie,Concerning the redownload fee,It is our vendor's policy, and we can understand. You must realize there are an incredible amount of redownload requests received. I would guess that 75% of all original sales end result in at least 1 re-download request after the initial download. With the amount of workload this takes SimMarket to handle (and associated bandwidth costs to deliver this many files) it becomes problematic to provide this for free. There is a 1 year download service option they offer at the time of purchase, which is highly recommended as an added convenience.Anyhow, we are working on providing re-downloads through our own system, but this will take a bit of time, and the price of our products may be slightly increased to reflect the additional costs. Of course, we are still trying to find a way to do it for free (or very low cost) in hopes to keep from having to hike the price. This is all in the air at the moment though...Hope that helps explain things a little better...Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg

Hi Damian - thanks for the note.It does upset me to have to pay extra to download something I already paid for. This is not the case with many sites (FS Genesis is one, and Justin's files are HUGE). That said, I should have taken better care of the original file. I can't find it, and will have to pay to get it again. Live and learn, I guess. Thanks,Charlie
