February 11, 200422 yr Dear allI had this problem for quiet a While in FS9 , no Matter what changes I make to FSUIPC or the weather Changes in FS9. I still get a "sharp" horizon no sky to ground blend as per FS2002. Even chaging the Visdistance still gives me a Solid Line out to the distance indicated. Can anybody tell me whats wrong etc... If does not look at allrealistic !RunningActivesky (For FS9)Latest FSUIPCP4 3000 MhzPatheon 9200 (I think thats the 3D Cards name)RegardsKevs
February 11, 200422 yr I can offer you a few suggestions, but in reality, you may be seeing the best FS9 can offer. The effect is particularly evident at higher altitudes, as that 80 mile drawing limit is at a pretty obvious angle.1.) No idea what that video card is, but try to find a different driver for it. Hold down the windows key and press R to open the run dialog (or do it thru the start menu if you prefer). Type in dxdiag and press enter. The third tab from the left is labeled display. Clicking that will tell you the make and model of your installed video card. It looks vaguely similar to Radeon 9200 - but I don't use ATI (that's who makes the radeon)- not even sure they make a 9200... If you do have an ATI card, a search of the AVSIM general forum will give you many hits on how to get the most from that card. Other people who have had problems have found toggling the 'enable table fog' setting produced more realistic effects. I'm not sure that your card has such an option - I think its a nVidia thing.2.) I have found the most realistic horizon to be obtained using these settings in the FS9 Options - settings - display menu. Maximum visibility to 80. Maximum cloud draw distance to 80. 3D clouds 100% and highest complexity. I then use FSUIPC registered version to set a maximum visibility to 75 miles. For me, this tends to blur the horizon just a touch. A setting of 70 miles may work better for you.Hope that helps!sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
