February 24, 200422 yr ...on the ActiveSky 2004 carrier :)I still don't have problems (and hopefully won't).But i do have a question that has aroused after reading so many posts and docs: does Activesky skip non recent informations?I believe not and that can cause some weird problems.Explanation:in many areas, civilian airports only open in daylight are present; in these cases metars are updated only until the airport closes. Then if you overfly that zone, activesky obviously loads a metar which could be up to 12hr old!I think you should put some effort in avoiding such a thing from happening. This is a thought of mine for a solution:since you already download all the metars, and FS knows which stations are nearby, do a crosscheck on metar times against the near reporting stations, and scrap the metar if more then X hours old.Or maybe put in the possibility for the user to define a series of stations not to be taken into account. What do you think?
February 24, 200422 yr Hi there and welcome aboard. I think the stations that we use are major active stations.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
February 25, 200422 yr I made a test flight from stansted to ciampino (ryanair):when arriving near rome, Activesky loaded both LIRS and LIRU.Lirs i don't know (used to be military), but LIRU is surely only updated between ephemeris.
February 25, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi,You can remove the entry in wx_station_list.txt for the airport you don't want processed. Ideally old wx should be discarded, and this is how AS2004 is designed, but something apparently isn't working right in this area, possibly related to changing wx source policies. I will have a look... Thanks for the input!Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation SoftwareDeveloper of ActiveSkyhttp://www.hifisim.comhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpg Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies

(this also accounts for the time discarding algorithm not working well)Given the fact that many of such airports are located near big towns, where most approaches take place, this could even account for a major part of "strange" behaviours at least when they verify at night.Gald to be of some help :)
