HelloI am a recent AS2004/FS2004 user. I follow the procedure of firing up FS, chosing airport, flightplan, clearing weather, then going to the small screen, activating AS, flightplan weather etc. I then press alt/enter to return to full screen, but it remains small screen and BLACK and the mouse shows an unstable hourglass. I have to close and restart FS. I can select AS first, then FS, and just fly, but cannot go to small screen and check the weather.

Hi,Can you please give us a little information about your computer system and the video drivers you are using? Thanks!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Try deleting your FS9.cfg file and let fs rebuild it. I was getting a lot of lock ups and that solved my problem.

XP-ProAthlon XP2000896Mb RamGF3 Ti200Nvidia 53.03 driversI know there is a new driver out(56). When it is fully certified I will install it.Thanks for your time

I know your card and drivers work because that was my combination for a long time. In FS see if Render to Texture is checked off. Does this happen if AS is not running?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

I'm still having this same problem. has there been a known fix for it ?? Thanks Frank

Hi Frank,Welcome! What have you tried to fix this? A few details about your system may help us also.Next time it is OK to start a new thread. But you did use the search function though! Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

I have reloaded both FS9 and AS. Checked and unchecked Render to Texture. My system is a 2.4G Intel processor, 1Gig of mem., nvidia 5900ultra vc. Soundblaster Augiby sound card. 80 gig hdrv.Running on win.XP pro.AS works ok if I load it first then fs9, and do not attempt to go back and load my flt. plan. I can update my flt. plan in radar once I'm upand running in fs9. it's only when I go to windows to load my flt. plan into AS that fs9 crashes. Thanks Frank

Hi Frank,Can you Alt-Tab in and out of FS to AS OK?orIs it the loading of the flight plan that causes the crash?Any error messages with the crashes?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Jim,Up until reading this e-mail from you I never tried the Alt-Tab method. It works perfectly by me going that route instead of the Alt-Del route, to the windows screen. I can load my flight plans, refresh, etc. etc. Thanks, once again I get real weather to fly in. Frank

OK glad you go it!! I have no idea what Alt-Delete does in Windows or in FS! In fact it is not even listed on my FS Keyboard Commands chart.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

That was a typo error. I meant Ctrl-Alt. As of now I'mback to everything in AS working great. Thanks for the help. Frank

I have a similar problem. It started after installing the B142 update of AS2004.5. When loading a flight plan, FS9 crashes to desktop without an error message.I have tried to rebuild FS9.cfg, AS2004.ini, FSUIPC.ini, delete all saved flights and flight plans, etc. It seems like the problem only occurs when using the PMDG 737NG as the selected aircraft in my default flight. Have done some testing with the Cessna as the default aircraft with success.I use a two monitor setup, running FS9 in windowed mode on one monitor and AS2004 on the other monitor. It should be noted that the crash occur even if I don't start AS2004, but since the problem started right after installing the B142 update and I never had any problems before, I wonder if it may be some kind of conflict with the PMDG 737 and the latest build of ActiveSky 2004?
