  1. The main difference from FSX DX10 to P3Dv3 for me is visual. With UTX2/FTX global on both systems, P3D is dramatically superior. Performance wise, P3D is ahead just. However, too much AI and extreme high settings, P3D will still stagger at major hubs like EGLL and EDDF.
  2. AS Bus works fine in P3D. FPS are overall better. However, F9-F12 zoom does not work. All other panel views are fine. Have posted at AS and here but no reply.
  3. Assuming you have FSX and P3D installed. Just copy and paste one chosen scenery from one to the other. Some have effects and a scenery/world/scenery entry as well, but not all. Then fire up P3D and install to the library.
  4. With FSX installed you can copy and paste all your sceneries that don't have a P3Dv3 installer. Most work fine. Trial and error.
  5. The new AS Berlin and Frankfurt are the worst for OOMs. I even took a step back and tried EDDF in FSX DX10 and OOM, Something is not right.
  6. Sorry I was joking. I know, I had PFE and I have PF3 where many of the voices are the same.
  7. It has now been well documented that ProATC has only 4 pilot voices whereas PF3 has a few more. The other thing that annoyed me about ProATC is the failure rate to handle FSC flightplans, about one in three. It fails to recognise some waypoints. All AIRACS being the latest.
  8. The latest ATC is PF3, an updated version of PFE. It is the only one to have over 100 voices from all over the world, making it more realistic. Also it handles AI aircraft perfectly well unlike some of the opposition.
  9. Hello A recent convert to P3D v3.2. So Far so good, quite impressive. One small problem with the AS airbus, the preset panel views F9,F10,F11 and F12 are not zoomable as in FSX. No idea why this should be. It seems Aerosoft are as well as I have not had a reply. Yes, there are plenty of other views that are zoomable but they are not as convenient.
  10. Actually, the last three airacs have been the same. No ILS R7 as a landing option. However, as I said I can do an ILS approach after installing the frequency manually.
  11. I recently purchased LatinVFR Montego Bay for FSX. However, there is something adrift. The scenery is nice enough, but using Airbus or Boeing with the latest airacs, there is no ILS landing option for R7. I know there is one, as I can put the frequency in manually and then land on an ILS approach. But why does it not come up in the FMC as an option? Is it something to do with UTX TAC?? If so what to do about it.
  12. I am surprised ProFlight Emulator [PFE] has not been mentioned. It has hundreds of pilot/controller voices available making it one of the most realistic ATC addons available.
  13. I have, but on a separate drive. You can pick up a decent one on the famous auction site at a sensible price.
  14. I have UK2000 Heathrow 3. Very nice it is too. Yes, with my chosen aircraft taxing for take off with 30% AI, I get 8-12 fps. However, to get things in perspective, with zero AI and a default C172, I can circle the airport with 30/30 fps. The same performance I get at the other major hubs. As always it is the AI which most of us can not do without.
  15. Have you checked out the pre-programmed failures via the FMC. They could be active.
  16. Not sure all your questions can be answered. However, the main AI programs are MYTRAFFICX 54C, Ultimate Traffic 2, WOAI and the highly disputed ICE Traffic. All have recent or current real world schedules and there is ample information about them here. The latter two are freeware. You can assign airlines to gates at any airport with programs like say AFX which adjusts the AFCAD . It takes time but worth it. Then if you are familiar with any airport you can place the AI flight accordingly. The recommended FSX traffic setting is 25-30% which will provide a realistic traffic density on the ground and in the sky. Too much AI traffic does affect performance, so it is a balancing act. Hope it helps a little.
  17. Do not install this update yet. It causes PFE to crash after a few seconds. I am sure it is being worked on.
  18. Thanks for your reply. To be clear, running UT2-2013 in DX-10 will still produce invisible AI with lights? John
  19. There is a load of information on the site about AI traffic. Is it not the case with some older packages, some models are incompatible in DX-10. i.e. I here them taxi by and they are speaking (PFE), however, all you see is the navigation lights of something going passed. My question is, will upgrading to UT2 2013 mean 100% AI compatibility? Thanks for any input John
  20. AIRAC cycles are aircraft specific whereas AeroSors cycle matches the information for FS9/FSX. Unfortunately, it does render theFS9/ FSX flightplanner useless and unstable. Not a problem if you have FSBuild ,or FSCommander which also have AIRAC cycles.
  21. Not forgetting EIRESIM's Alicante LEAL. Also an AES airport
  22. Thanks for the info. I looked at the problem of clock updating. I don't have the full FSUIPC, however , I was running FS Realtime. I stopped that and today two European legs in the AirbusX worked perfectly. Unfortunately a third trip in the USA led to an ATC.dll CTD. I looked into your explanation of the potential causes, namely memory. Mine is 8MB @1333MHz but was showing up in CPUz as 800. So went back into the BIOS and sorted it. We will get there in the end. Many thanks John
  23. Hello my first post to this forum. I am new to FSX, having ran FS9 for 10 years. So I invested in the equipment and some software and gave it a go. So far not happy. The sim often updates itself with terrain, aircraft, boats etc and often hangs during this operation. This can happen on the ground before departure or in flight. Sometimes it happens after checking the menu, or like today, not, just approaching cruise altitude. I then do a restart to try again. I have read many similar stories here but they just add to the confusion. I have tried the uiautomationcoredll. Makes no difference. Updated every driver there is . Added the HIGHMEMFIX and Affinity to the FSX cfg. PC is i5 2500k@ 4.6 and GTX560TI. Thanks in advance John
  24. Most of my flights tend to be 2-4 hours over Europe, mostly from EGCC, all departures and destinations AES enabled. However, I don't sit there for all that time. When PFE have cleared me for the cruise, I am able to move about. Just have to be there for the descent.Occassionly, I set up an east bound overnight flight from the USA to Europe. Again, once in the cruise I can go to bed. Wake up in time for the final hour.John
  25. HelloI am new to REX-overdrive myselfAssumptions are made, like you are on-line for live weather, and Options are checked and saved.( don,t open this page again because it unsaves itself) Config manager with the autosubmits checked and saved.( again, don,t open this page again because it unsaves itself) Textures theme has been uploaded to Flightsim.(6/7 minutes)I just want to fly:Check realtime weather and submit departure and destination points. ( you have to decide where you fancy going). OK.Route textures are uploaded to FS, the weather engine and FS auto loads, takes 7/8 minutes.Choose your aircraft and make a flightplan for the chosen route. Enjoy. You can check the TAFs for the dep/arr by checking weather and submitting codes (eg EGCC)You can also make the flightplan textures from the Flightplan page if you prefer, however, I prefer to leave this page alone. Although the same effect is created.Hope this helpsJohn
