I am looking for holiday destination payware airport. I fly airbus x extended and 737 NGX exclusively.

 

I already have EPKK drzewiecki design which is my home city airport.

 

I want to pretend Im flying charter holiday routes in my jets

 

I heard that Skiathos X is a top notch product packaged with approach plates and no ils which seems to be nice challenge. Also wondered about CorfuX and MallorcaX. I want to choose a place where I have already been. I visited all of most popular Greek Islands, also Mallorca and Tenerife. Just not sure which of them is best in FSX.

 

I'm searching for a design level of EPKK as this is made just like real one. Can you fellow simmers give me a hint in the right direction?

My 3 favorites would be in order of preference:

Corfu X

Mallorca X

Faro X

Mallorca is a great addon, but if you seriously consider it, I'd suggest to take a look at the whole Balearic Islands, which is a bundle consisiting of Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza. All three islands are of the same good quality, so if you like that area, the bundle is quite a bit cheaper.

For the Greek Islands: Skiathos is indeed a great and challenging airport, but the others of this Aerosoft Greek Islands series (e.g. Mykonos, Herklion, Kastellorizo) are really top notch quality, too - and all of them cover a whole lot more than just the airport itself.

Also, there's a package called "Holiday Airports X" by Aerosoft, which includes Kos, Antalya and two other "classic holiday destinations", IIRC one of them is Larnaca. However, those airports are quite old already, and hence not of the same visual quality as the ones mentioned above.

One more for Mykonos, Corfu and the Aerosoft Holiday airports (1) bundle. The bundle doesn't include Larnaca (that will be included in an upcoming bundle #2), but also Faro and Monastir.

 

For the Baleares you should consider the photoscenery/mesh available at simmarket. It doesn't improve the airports, but it covers all the islands at a lower price than the Aerosoft title.

 

For the Canaries there's a very good freeware photoscenery available at flightsim.com. There's also good freeware offered for a number of Greek airports and islands at the AVSIM library and at flightsim.com.

 

Also the brand new Thessaloniki X is amazing. Steep price, though, as it also covers the city and offers some more eye-candy.

Airport is most important to me. I am using Fsglobal2010, ftx vector and ftxglobal so terrain textures are beautiful anyway. Most important is airport surrounding is second thing. I will check Baleares bundle and Skiathos X and decide. Thanks!

Have a look at Thessaloniki, Mykonos, Iraklion, Skiathos, Balearic Islands, Madeira...

Thoroughly recommend Skiathos! Excellent challenge especially in the 757 the 737 and A320 as well probably! :lol: My other favorite is the Canary Islands. Sim Giants has great scenery there. Lots of eye candy!

And can anyone confirm how is default ATC handling these approaches? I like to use ATC from time to time and don't know how it deals with Skiathos

I hardly ever use ATC, but I guess they handle Skiathos just like any other airport without ILS, so you'll get vectors, then they'll ask you if you see the airport, and from that point on you can proceed as you think it's best. If you're not sure, you can try a flight to Juliana (TNCM) first, Skiathos should be handeled the same way.

You definitely should go for FlyTampa's TNCM (Saint Maarten). It's a really airport on the beach!

Anyway, there shouldn't be more glitches than on any other approach under default ATC supervision...
