I believe it's wired so the light stays on regardless of 'No Smoking' switch position. The 'dings' produced by moving the switch (or automatically if left in 'Auto') are used to alert the cabin before takeoff/landing I believe.

I am still having this issue. Simconnect re-install didn't do anything for me. I'm just supposed to run the .msi files in the SDK folder relating to simconnect, correct? The order doesn't matter? Hi Kyle, I have tried that numerous times already, and no change. I also checked manually in the registry and the correct entries appear to be there. It should be noted that I am using FSX Steam Edition -- not that I think it makes a difference. EDIT Ok well I don't know whether you have psychic powers or something Kyle, but I just did the registry fixer *again* and now... it works. Smack-dab on that magenta line :wink: whereas before, it didn't. Great stuff.

I am also experiencing this issue with both the MD11 *and* the PMDG 747 (Boxed) and cannot for the life of me figure this one out. Does anyone have any suggestions? Many thanks.

Umm well I don't know whether you have any add-on scenery to compare it with. I personally do not have the Sydney scenery. FlyTampa Toronto is the only FlyTampa scenery I have and I don't notice a decrease in fluidity, but that's because I have quite a powerful system. I think performance is likely to be similar to other detailled major airport add-ons (UK2000 Heathrow, Aerosoft Mega Airports, etc...) Generally the 777 is a bit easier on the frame rate, so if you are satisfied with the performance of the NGX, the 777 should be either better, or the same performance wise. Wybe

It worked fine for me in FSX-SE, not in P3D though.

Thomas Ruth made a reasonable (freeware) DC-10 a while back - with a VC and everything. Never got the INS to work though. At some point there was a Facebook page called DC-XX with some screenshots on a DC-10 project, but it appears to have vanished into oblivion. Meanwhile there is the CLS DC-10. A version 2 has been promised for a while, but I have yet to see any screenshots/progress on the matter. MAAM-SIM made a DC3 for FS2004, with "FSX Basic Compatibility Available". There was in fact a fundamental design flaw regarding the handeling of the MD11, but it shouldn't be blown out of proportion. I'm sure KLM (or FedEx) pilots will tell you that it handels just fine. A large number of the hull losses were the result of the crew mishandeling the airplane. But that's not the point. Sad to see the last commercially operated MD11 retire! :(

+1 I have had this 'problem' since release. Relatively annoying, but not a deal-breaker. Would be nice if it was fixed.

Ugh I flew over it literally days before it happened SIN-AMS (SQ324). I will look on the flight-tracker TV thing which way they fly around on the way back. I believe the UKDV FIR is now completely closed. (Indefinitely?) This is a really horrible incident. Very tragic to lose so many fellow citizens.

Not getting the -300. The -300ER, on the other hand... But really. These are two quite different aircraft (with different ICAO codes, may I add) so despite their similarity, let's not confuse them.

LGSK is fun. You could do a real life Transavia route from LGSK to EHRD. NL2000 has fantastic scenery for the Netherlands (free!!), and Aerosoft has one for Skiathos I believe. Both airports are beautiful and very scenic. Lots of eye candy!
