Again good stuff coming to the Lear 35 with version 2.6
I see that a 2.7 update is now out. Has the green windshield heat light logic been addressed in this update? Andrew

Flight controls not working
I had major issues with the Q400 and my hardware. It turned out simply that the various controller IDs were incorrect. As such, axes were active in the configurator that hadn't been even assigned in FSX or FSUIPC... You may need to check that the axes you are assigning are the on correct controller device... A

4100 Unable to engage autopilot to follow my FMS flightplan
If I remember correctly, I do believe you have to be within certain navigation parameter limits of the course you wish to follow, in order for the NAV function of the autopilot in the Jetstream to capture... I am just getting back into this aircraft again after a couple of years not in it... A

I am switching to p3d soon and I was curious if I had to re purchase all of my existing pmdg products for use in p3d.
It is more than just one developer that requires payment for different sim versions... A2A (completely separate with no upgrade pricing, other than offers on release sometimes), RealAir (offers cross-platform upgrade pricing) As well as one or two scenery developers even nowadays... A

Fly Tampa Corfu Simply Stunning
It is also one of my go to testing grounds, just because it is so beautifully crafted and performs well. Great for that 30 minutes of free time in the evening to fire up the A2A Harvard/Texan and go for a spin over the island! A

Rudder pedals
aentwis replied to fadeh's topic in Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etcSo, how do you find your set of NFG Crosswinds Ron? I am loving mine... Andrew

Switch Saitek Pro Flight for Cessna Yoke?
I just removed my Saitek Cessna yoke, as I was constantly fighting with its detents. Removing one spring made it nicer to use, but I just didn't feel happy with it any more. The biggest problem in terms of yoke is that there is almost nothing else on the market other than the CH equipment (which looks too toy-like for my taste) that is even vaguely in the same price range. The yoke remains connected as I still need the prop and mix levers of the throttle unit, but I now run with a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS with MFG Crosswind pedals. The Saitek trim wheels are great pieces of kit - I have two, one as rudder trim and the other as elevator trim, through FSUIPC... But I really want a throttle quadrant from virtual-fly and probably a yoke from PFC, but not for a year or two... A

EDCG (Rügen) no airport buildings after last orbx update
Did you try reinstalling it? I noticed that the configuration panel was not available on updating the libraries and the new FTX Central system, so I reinstalled Rügen... A

Ils approach too high
Are you sure you have the most up-to-date version of UK2000 EGCN? There appears to have been an AFCAD issue with an older version that was interfering. Make sure you are running the latest version of the airport... Andrew

There is too much fanboyism in this community
It will be with us forever. You kick fanboyism off one platform, they eventually find another. That is life. It is up to the rest of us just simply to ignore them, preferably with no comment. To compare two items so far apart in terms of point in time of release to market is pointless, that is the opnly comment I will make on this video. Now, if two companies release the same airport/aircraft or whatever at pretty much the same point in time, then a constructive and objective comparison of the two products helps us as consumers to decide which one fits us better. Time to move along... A

If You Can Read This The Beers Are On Me
May be a dumb question, but have you tried updating to the latest version of FSUIPC? It could be an issue of P3D in its latest version clashing with an older version of FSUIPC... A

The price of fsx payware addons
Ben Weston from Airline2Sim sums it up well enough for me. Anybody putting out their wares on the market will soon know if the price they ask is justified. If you like the top-end stuff, you can wait for the odd sale or two that occurs. Granted, not all the design studios offer their goods at sale prices, but over the years I have picked up some good deals on OrbX goods, to name but one... If you feel that you do not wish to be at the cutting edge, or cannot afford it, sometimes a little patience is all that is required... Now, off to MilViz, I have had my eye on the F100 now for a few weeks... A

Status KA350i?
As one who has been vocal a little from time to time, though not on this forum, I would like to express my thanks to Colin for his in-depth post here. One of my issues was the lack of information on the development of the KA tied with a regular stream of new models in development and released. I am sure I was not alone in thinking that the KA was no longer a priority, even though it had been offered as a pre-pay. Life really is too short to get worked up about things like this. I am sure it will be out when it is is out... and not a day before... Thanks again Colin for the information... Andrew

Forest Textures Dissected (By Other Scenery Polygons?)
I don't have P3D, so I can't really specifically help with that, but I do know the Harz region, as I live close by. The lake in your screenshot looks like the Söse Reservoir near Osterode. I agree with you that the land use is not correctly depicted here. Which landclass are you using? UTX Europe I believe does not bring full landclass, but only vector data plus a few other items. I could have a look at OpenLC Europe from OrbX in FSX to see what the coverage is. I also have FTX Global running there as well in FSX... A

Nice stuff... nailing the landings, particularly in adverse conditions (visibility, windshear) is great fun A

Question about overclocking
aentwis replied to simmerhead's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcIf your systems is stable at that voltage and clock speed, it generally means you have a good CPU. If you have stability issues with RealBench or IBT (careful with that one...), then you might want to up the core voltage a little. You certainly have a bit of leeway still. I run my 2700K at 4.8GHz with the Noctua DH14 cooling it. It runs stably, but I did have to push the voltage up to 1.38V or 1.39V to keep it stable (I don't have the exact value in my head and cannot check while in the office). I really need to test it with something other than Prime95, but it hasn't blue screened or stopped on me in 3 years as far as I can remember. I must add that I turned off HT. It would be difficult to run at 4.8GHz with HT enabled. That would need a higher voltage and 1.4V was my threshold... It does what I want it to do and has done so well for the last 2-3 years without any problems so far. Maybe one day it will fail... and that day I will build a new one I would love to build an i7-6700K into a system with a GTX980Ti and two SSDs and the OS on an M2 drive... unfortunately, that upgrade would cost me easily €2000 or more. newbie scattered questions
There is no current way to update the navdata fully to a current AIRAC or cycle without paying. Navigraph and Aerosoft NavDataPro are the two options that are similarly priced IIRC... The only issues that occur IMO with the fsx navdata being old are when you approach a default airport runway whose ILS frequency has changed (or a VOR approach with a changed VOR frequency). Then you have a mismatch between the PMDG NGX FMS database and FSX. Otherwise, if you use a Navigraph or NavDataPro subscription, you can keep the database fairly up to date, as you do not need to update the database with every released cycle, unless of course you have the money to do so THere is also the issue of an updated addon scenery with the wrong ILS frequencies sometimes. In this case, you can edit the respective airport's file to reflect the real-world ils frequency change. You can also install an update provided kindly for free by a French gentleman I believe: http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids3.html The caveat here is that the FS flight planner may crash on you... then again, if you use the NGX, then it is likely that you will be planning your flights with tools other than FSX' internal flight planner... Something strange, the 777 can do mid-flight refueling :-)
Now, that is an answer that made me laugh this morning! For that I am eternally thankful I can fully understand having access to such stuff while flying, even when it is not 100% realism... As has already been said, we are not sitting behind the controls of the real deal now, are we? Furthermore, the PMDG versions of the 777 are by far the closest simulation of the aircraft outside a real-world level-d simulator or the real aircraft for that matter... A

Affinity mask question and DX10 Fixer
AffinityMask 14 is for a 4-core CPU without hyperthreading enabled... it is the decimal equivalent of 1110, (8+4+2+0 = 14), Core 0 is disabled, Cores 1-3 are enabled... If you set the affinity mask to 15, ie enabling all 4 cores, I don't think you will see any improvement, but try it and see A

Thoughts on GPU and CPU overclocking?
aentwis replied to markurman's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcIf your computer case has the necessary space, you cannot go wrong with the noctua. It is a monster of a cooler, though it needs to be fitted correctly. Check online for overclocks on your specific mainboard. The Intel "K" processors are easy to overclock following relatively simple guides online. The importrnat thing is to have the cooler installed and running, burn it in (i.e. run the computer for a couple of days or so beofre overclocking it, so the CPU thermal paste you applied has time to spread and form accordingly), then overclock in steps, testing each step as you go. It takes a few days or so, depending on how you can go with the voltage increase (which you will need for higher overclocks) A

IPAD 2 and Aurasim app
I had myself worried there for a minute... Aurasim works without issue on the iPad Air 2... which version of iOS is on your iPad2 Perry? Maybe it is an issue with the browser version on an older veriosn of iOS? You could try installing Firefox for free on your iPad from the store, that might help... A

Is it damaging to overclock?
aentwis replied to johanneswv's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcOverclocking, if done with care and remaining within the temperature and voltage limits of your CPU, is not damaging. If you run it close tot the limit, you may experience an increase in wear and your CPU may fail earlier, but that is not definite. It is easiest to overclock with an unlocked or K designated CPU, as that allows an overclock without having to adjust the FSB. Definitely you will need an adequate cooling solution for your CPU and case (remember that certain components on the mainboard can also be stressed by the overclock and will need enhanced cooling). Good airflow through the case is adequate with a good quality aftermarket CPU cooler like the Noctua NH14 or equivalent. I have been running the i7-2700K I have at 4.8GHz on air (with the NH14) since I built the computer. I got the processor at the end of 2011, and built the box during the first month or two of 2012, so it has been running for 4 years with little to no issue... A

For your viewing pleesure, Is it real or Fake?
Other than the way too fast landing could have been a real cockpit video... You have an exceptionally cool setup there, not only would my two sons be jealous... their dad as well Thanks for sharing the video with us here. I was amazed at some of the comments. I find it bizarre how some people can be so serious about such stuff. At the end of the day, we do this for fun, at least I do... A

F1 Super KingAir or Carenado C90 GTX?
IF appearance is more important to you than functionality, then the Carenado aircraft should suit you better. The F1 B200 may not have all the G1000 functionality, but, as I understand it, what there is works exactly as it should. I am looking forward to seeing the Milviz 350i and hopefully the analogue gauged version later... A
