More new GEX textures..WOW!
Respectfully disagree. It made a huge difference when I switched to P3D a few months ago. Performance, shadows, textures etc were all significantly improved. Best decision I made was to switch. But as you point out it is still 32 bit and still has VAS issues with complex add-on's.

AS A318/9 ... questions
Good call. I did a flight from London to Paris yesterday. Thought I added the fuel, but when I landed in Paris and exited the runway, I had 60kg of fuel left onboard.

AS A318/9 ... questions
Buy it. The Aerosoft A319 us my favorite passenger aircraft. Super easy to fly and learn. Comes with built in checklists and automated co pilot. If you start in turn-around status, all you really need to do is run the checklist and co pilot and sit back while they set everything up for you. You just need to set the trim, push back, do a controls check, start the engines and taxi. As you get more comfortable you can take more of the work. Once you can fly one, you can fly all the A318-321. There are plenty of videos on youtube you teach you how to program the flight computer. Once you learn the basis it is pretty easy as long as you have the route waypoints to key in. Finally there are tons of great repaints on the Aerosoft forum for all the airbuses.

I am waiting several weeks for people to "beta test" and flag any issues before I download myself.

Does anyone do alternative sims to flying?
The graphics look pretty good on the train sims. But personally for me they seem a little restricted. You can only stop at stations on your scenario. As it is a train, you obviously can not steer or go on your own way.

Does anyone do alternative sims to flying?
Thinking about giving Euro Truck Simulator 2 a try to create some variety from tanking around the skies in a jet. Does anyone else sim in other modes of transport? I.e. American Truck Simulator, Euro Truck Simulator, Farm Simulator, City Skylines, Fernbus etc? They all seem so cheap compared to the cost of flight sims and the numerous add-ons needed to support flying.

Build for p3d
richie894 replied to gfbk4life1's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcLooks solid. I have the 1070 card. It does the job well. Don't think it is worth paying the extra $$$ for a 1080. Make sure you get a SSD. My Samsung 850 loads windows pretty much instantly. Once the power button is pressed the log in screen comes right up.

Here is the Bizjet List for P3D
This mirrors all of the reviews I have seen and why I did not purchase it myself. There seems to be a lack of quality bizjets for P3D.

Here is the Bizjet List for P3D
I was thinking about getting it, but decided not to after reading the reviews on Simmarket. They were not that great.

When is the right time to turn off A/P while landing?
Different strokes for different folks. I usually switch to manual about 5 miles out as I enjoy hand flying and find landing myself is more fun than letting the computer do it.
