I agree. Amazon Prime video, when it started was all free material, that was the 'selling' point of it. Then some, cynical accountant probably suggested, "hey we can screw more cash out of our customers but let's wait until we have more of them signed up." Then they gradually added pay-to-view content, usually the latest movies, some which were still on at the cinema. Fine, that's fair enough... but now, there are hundreds of films that you have to pay for, and no longer new releases, more often than not, you have to pay for films which can be twenty or thirty years old! Then the one's you don't pay for are stuffing ads down your throat! It gets tiring. As has been said, it's just more greed... it's everywhere. Oh, do doubt someone will say, "Oh., if you don't like it, then don't pay." or "no one is forcing you." Hmm, that argument wears a bit thin after a while.

One of the problems of getting older is the inability to remember things, or should I say, the ability to forget things I have been having a lot of issues with the PMDG 738 in relation to VC freezes etc, so I decided to do a full reinstall of the aircraft. I also removed all the panel state files too. In doing so, I removed whatever I did years ago that allowed me to start the aircraft in a true cold & dark state. By true state, I mean when I start the flight, the cockpit has no electrical power on and is truly cold and dark. I have created a cold and dark scenario, given it a name and saved the panel state, however, when I then start the flight and arrive in the cockpit, it has the electrics on, because of course I had to have the FMC on initially to create a panel state! Can anyone remind me how I go about creating a state where the cockpit is in a proper cold and dark state with all electrics off at the start. Thanks.

CPFlight MCP/EFIS 2024 Compatibility

Sure, that's my point Gerard. I'm frustrated at not having received a reply from them. It would be nice to know if they will be likely releasing an update in the near future to make it 2024 compatible. I guess I was hoping someone may have some news that I was unaware of. -
Nobody else reporting this???

Has anyone discovered a fix for this? I have never experienced this 'lock up' until recently. Always in the PMDG 738. Import the FP directly via Simbrief, all relevent departure points entered correctly with BATC, but then if I make any changes to the FP, eg, earlier I wanted to delete a waypoint just after T/O, while using the Cockpit Master CDU, and the entire cockpit becomes unresponsive. None of the buttons or switches operate, either via the CPFlight MCP/EFIS or the CDU, or the curser inside the VC. The only thing that operates oddly, are the rudders and yoke! This ha sbecome tiresome, and as my 738 is my 'go to' aircraft, I've done very little flying recently. Does anyone know anything about this and if there is a fix somehwere? Cheers. -
I have to say, I'm a little miffed with CPFlight. I have sent them two emails and also a Facebook query asking if the MCP/EFIS EL version is compatible with 2024. To date I have had no response. I mean, how difficult can it be to reply with a few words! I understand from others, that while it can work with SPAD, in doing so, there are a few functions that don't work, but more importantly, there is some lag. Just wondering if anyone can offer their thoughts. Cheers.

A contender for the yearly Darwin Award I would think!

Hiya Paul, yup, that was me! I used the virtual overhead from Aviaworx with a (used, off Ebay) 32" touchscreen. It always felt too small TBH, but I didn't have it long before upgrading to the VRinsight V2 OH. I also used the Aviaworx CDU too, ran it on my Ipad, worked a treat. Again, I upgraded to the Cockpit Master CDU. Using Aviaworx items such a sthe CDU and OH, is a great and much cheape rlaternative for people. This is my current cockpit
