Anyone Using the Cache Removal Tool?
Just wondering, and if so, what are your thoughts? https://flightsim.to/addon/92765/msfs2024-cache-removal-tool

Hmmm, 2024 LOD.
Sure, I'm new to 24 and have followed some settings suggestions. I think tomorrow I'll spend some serious time and do some testing. Thanks Noel.

Hmmm, 2024 LOD.
Hi Noel, I have noticed what I see as very aggressive LOD behaviour, sometimes, when on final, many of the objects are loading literally almost beneath the aircraft. Trees, fences and other objects. Only today did I fly into an airstrip, NZA Wanaka region, and literally the grass and trees were loading wihtin fifty feet in front of the plane! I've tried changing the in sim LOD settings, but it doesn't appear to make much of difference.

Hmmm, 2024 LOD.
Yes, I am late to the party! I was just wondering if anyone knew something I didn't 😉

Glass Out is here!
Has anyone got this tested with the PMDG 737 main panels, primarily the PFD and ND.

Hmmm, 2024 LOD.
Hmm, fair point. It would be nice however, if the user was give an option to determine things like this based on their PC performance.

Hmmm, 2024 LOD.
But I didn't notice it so much in 2020.

Hmmm, 2024 LOD.
It was always going to be a bit of a gamble for me to make the jump from 2020 to 24, mainly because I was pretty happy with how it performed when flying my 738. But I made the jump anyhow. I have to say, I am mainly very impressed with numerous aspects of the new sim. Primarily I see far less morphing and shifting of mountainous areas, and the weather, from what I've seen so far, looks simply gorgeous, although I have read threads from those who say they prefer 2020. It does seem somewhat inconsistent with how things are rendered, sometimes delivering better visuals than others. However, there is one particular issue that I find very irritating, and that's the rather aggressive LOD system that Asobo is using in 24. As someone who doesn't really understand the technicalities of scenery design, I have however read a bit about this issue, but I'm curious to discover if anyone has any information, that I'm unaware of, suggesting Asobo is going to change it or in some way.

What's with the BS Caravan Sigh?
Hi Bill, absolutely. I deleted FSR in the task manager, so it definitely wasn't running. I'll reinstall tomorrow and let you know how I get on. If it's no different, I'll contact support. Cheers.

What's with the BS Caravan Sigh?
Sure, I've been aware of those sounds too. I assumed they were some slight rattles the developer had added to the soundset of the aircraft. I think I'll reinstall the aircraft.

What's with the BS Caravan Sigh?
The mystery continues. I'm with a friend at the moment, but I'll definitely check it out later today. Thanks for your help Bill, appreciated.

What's with the BS Caravan Sigh?
Here ya go Bill. You should be able to hear it at 9 and 34 seconds. Although It's less discernable on the video than what it is in reality. BTW, shutting down FSR in task manager didn't make any difference.
-
What's with the BS Caravan Sigh?
Sure, will try shutting it down from task manager and if no joy, I'll pop a video online.
-
What's with the BS Caravan Sigh?
Good point Bill. No, I haven't. I'll try later today and shut it down completely in Task Manager. Cheers.

What's with the BS Caravan Sigh?
Hi Ron, no, not yet, I thought I'd ask around here first.
-
What's with the BS Caravan Sigh?
Hmm, can you elaborate a little?
-
What's with the BS Caravan Sigh?
Sure Bill, but it happens at any height. I am, but I've tried it with FSR turned off, and the sound is still there.

Boris Soundworks 737... Unsure!
Hey Christopher, maybe I'll follow your lead and revisit the default sounds in the 738. Will try that later, cheers.

Boris Soundworks 737... Unsure!
I purchased the Brois soundpack for the PMDG 738 some time ago in 2020 and loved it. However, having now moved across to FS24, I installed the newly released version for 24. I have to say, and I maybe on my own here, but I am a little disappointed. The sounds of the switches are almost indistinguishable and the overall cockpit, ambient noise during flight, I find overly loud. Which is what I liked about the previous version, the flight deck was quieter than the PMDG default sounds. This may be or may not be true to life, but it's just my preference. Does anyone else share my experience? Also, is there a way of maybe tweaking any of the sounds, or are the sound files inaccessible?

GSX Updates
Ah, thanks Steve. I did take a look to try and find something, clearly I didn't look close enough. I'll check it out, cheers.

GSX Updates
Apologies if this has already been discussed, I haven't seen anything, but for the life of me, why on earth have this enormous menu. If I can't somehow reduce the size and placement of this monstrosity I'll stop using GSX. I'm sure many feel it is great, and I'm making a 'mountain out of a mole hill,' but as someone who flies with a 48" monitor, I find the size of the menu more than imposing! The other thing I find frustrating is it always reappears on the right handside of the screen, even after I have moved it. But it's the size of the menu I find extremely irritating. Am I on my own with this? Does anyone know if this can be successfully reduced in size?
