  1. Nope Vincent - I'm still on 1.7.27 and the in sim update, whatever it was didn't update the version number. TBH, I have no idea what it was and it didn't seem to have any effect at all. Maybe indeed, a file became corrupted or something.
  2. I'm not in the beta - I got burned by a beta in msfs2020 (wiped all my addons) and never again.
  3. I've almost exclusively used the game ready drivers over the years, but has anyone found any tangible difference or benefits with the studio drivers? Is there any meaningful reason why we should consider using, or not using these for eithr MSFS or MSFS2024? Sidenote - just got an update for the Nvidia app today, but only changes seem to be related to shadowplay (which I don't use). EDIT: It did appear to turn off my dynamic gramerate generation, so you may need to check and reset it.

Anyone here know of any news regarding the above which has been under reconstruction for quite a while now. Whilst not the premier flightsim site, it did have its uses? Just wondering if anyone on here works with them or has contacts who could give us a bit of an update, expected timeline, etc. Ta
  5. I've done it a couple of times in 2024 and it was done in a flash with no issues or drama, However, I do remember doing it in 2020 and it deleted my entire community folder and all of my addons. I still make sure my backups are up to date before using it though.
  6. I guess some people get off on those types of thing. Never really saw the point myself either.
  7. My internet connection is only 150 MB and MSFS2024 never uses anywhere near that.
  8. Yeah, I was thinking the same. Whatever, all seems OK.
  9. Anyone have any idea why I seem to be the only one to open MSFS2024 yesterday and it requested a restart for a small update. Could there be a specific cause that just afected my MSFS installation and nobody else? Everything is working fine BTW - just a bit confused.
  10. Thats' true to an extent Bob but I've learned a few things from him regarding Cleanups, DLSS upgrades, frametimes, etc. The annoying part is that he uses a 30 or 40 minute video to tell you what he could tell you in a 10 minute one - but it's all about the advertising revenue, I suppose.
  11. Watched that video earlier Fielder and downloaded the driver after. It certainly feels smoother than the previous driver to me and the previous driver was good so I echo his sentiments. I've not analysed the frametimes but it feels good on the few short flights I've done with it and tested at London City and New York with lots of addons.
  12. Well that's odd. I certainly wasn't expecting an update and have no idea what it was -will have to wait and see if anyone else got it. There was also a small update for the FSLTL injector for those of us who still use it.
  13. Had an update to MSFS2024 this morning which said restart MSFS to install. Restarted and still seem to be on version 1.7.27.0 I was assuming that this was the official release of the Update 5.1 Beta version 1.7.28.0 but now not sure what the update was as I could find nothing on the oficial forum or within the application.
  14. Do we have any idea about why these cause a problem and is there a potential solution other than removal? Has anyone spoken to Mamu to see if he can help to resolve?
  15. Indeed, after reading your post, I removed these and things have been a lot smoother since.
  16. We know that from time to time (quite regularly in some cases) Microsoft updates the satellite images for MSFS and when I notice them, I often like to fly around the updated areas. Obviously MS keeps a record of what areas are updated and when. I wonder if it would be possible or if MS would be willing to share info about these updates with us (I'm not simply talking about world updates here but of general updates to the images). Is this something anyone else would like to see?
  17. I often have to zip and unzip folders to get them in and out of the community folder. Most annoying but it's due to the over aggressive encryption and copy protection I guess.
  18. It's in settings/gaming if you have the latest version of Windows 11. If not you have to enable it as per the instructions.
  19. FYI, Here is the video I watched (surprised nobody has tried it or wants to comment):
  20. Could this be related to having co-pilot turned on?
  21. Anyone enabled it in Windows 11 and have any thoughts and comments on it? I've just enabled it and am testing to see if there is any benefit or advantage to be had, but wondering what thoughts you may all have. Edit. Just after posting it caused MSFS24 to completely crash and needed a restart. Suffice to say I won't be trying it again until there is more information and stability. Even worse - It turned off HDR on reboot and it now won't turn back on again, so now I'm going to have to figure that out - HDR did come back on second reboot but had to use the Windows callibration tool to get it set up properly again. From what I can gather from a video I watched yesterday, performance improved across a number of titles (though not MSFS2024) and it disables a number of background services that are not required for gaming to improve performance. The guy was using an RTX4070, but as everyones system is different and I'm using an RTX5080 I thought it might be worth checking it out.
  22. Sydney was fine. Haven't had time to check out Melbourne yet or its new photogrammetry suburbs.
  23. Tried both on and off. Off did improve my VRAM usage a little but after a fair bit of testing, I got better performance with it switched back on. If you have low VRAM isues, you may be better having it off or keep it on and reduce your othr msfs or Nvidia settings. Everyones systems and preferences are going to be different on this.
  24. Wow, this one is massive. Lots of areas to explore and check out. Will have to check to see if any of my addon airports are affeced, if I still need a couple of addon photogrammetry areas and whether all the ORBX cities still work. Many hours of fun to be had here. I've already had a quick flight around Sydney and all looks good here. Note to mods: Could you please change the title to Sim Update 20 Australia Released.
