I tend to do a lot of my sighseeing with this setting and a lot of testing too which keeps tests comparable. I do use live weather if it is reaonable for VFR, moreso in the summer than winter. On the subject of weather addons, I still use the inbuilt weather, though I guess a number of addons could improve that somewhat at additional cost (a price I have not yet been convinced I should pay).

I've run msfs2024 every day this week so i suspect a new airac update. I thought they were stored in the cloud rather than as a sim update but probably not then.

Not in the beta but just got a notification that msfs2024 has an update available and to restart the sim. Still on 1.8.16.0 so I'm assuming something minor, but it would be handy to know what updated.

I really don't have a problem with websites being supported by adverts if it makes the service they provide free of charge to the customer and am happy to support that approach and do from time to time respond to the adverts shown. However flightsim.to is now going a bit over the top in that respect and is affecting user experience to the point that we may end up going elsewhere as competing services spring up. That would be a shame as it is good to be able to find nearly everything you may want in one place. I don't use any ad blockers, by the way.

Never really explored Poland and the Baltics much as there is very little scenery in msfs. There are lots of payware and freeware addon airports though and I'm looking forward to using some of these along with the new world update which is sure to include many of the most important cities in the region - TBH, I'm surprised Poland wasn't done a long time ago given that the franchise has now been running and receiving updates for over 6 years.

As a result of your original question, I had msfs2024 running so had a quick search of the controls section and found it to be ALT + L. As far as I am aware, I have never changed it or had any need to change it from the default.

ALT + L in 2024. Not sure about 2020 though posibly the same.

A slider for turbulence would be helpful as for many of us, realistic is too high and medium is too low.

As far as I am aware, there is no manual for 2024. Sofly did one for 2020 but not 2024. I believe the view of MS is that everything is included in the sims menus and the information they give you and whilst I accept that this is not enough there doesn't seem to be anythig else. The best place for guidance and information in my view is the forum you are currently on. Thre is a search facitlty ify ou are looking for anything specific. Youtube is also a useful source of information and guidance.

Just had a look on google maps and it looks like at some point the origina centre line was blacked out and new lines repainted in slightly different places. ORBX EGLC seems to have the old centre line and the new one with the old one not fully blacked out. I had not really noticed it until you mentioned it.

It certainly looks amazing in some cases although the benefits are minimal when compared to the framerate drops, so it's a no from me at the moment. I'm sure that this will develop into something really good over time though. I think it's a case of the game devs rewriting some of their code to take advantage of it to a great extent and I doubt that we will see this until MSFS2028 or whatever comes next. Still, it does look like progress albeit work in progress.

Glad you got it sorted Hans. The Xbox thing is quite a common fix.

Check your internet is working OK and then log out and back into the Xbox app. I've also tried running msfs on a vpn to see if that works on occasions too. You could also try moving or renaming your community folder. I'm assuming your PC is running fine otherwise. Running the repair option on the Xbox app or steam is also worth doing if all else fails.

Game ready driver 616.92 is now out. Nothing that will affect MSFS from what I can tell and it primarily seems to be a WHQL update for the recent hotfix driver. I won't be installing this one having installed the hotfix. Not sure, but when I've had this kind of problem it usually turns out to be a conflict with another controller, usually a throttle setting on that controller or moe that one slider or button set to throttle in the same controller setup. Hope you find it and can fix it.

Just finished a flight over my test area Newark, NY Laguardia to JFK and noticed no issues so far. Will see how it goes over the next couple of days. That area with addons gives it a pretty robust test.

Just wondering how MSFS2024 performs with it and I guess a few still on 2020 may want to know too. I've seen very little in the way of reviews so far. I've avoided the last couple of drivers as the reviews seem to be suggesting performance has been going a bit downhill lately - Still on 610.62, though some are reporting that earlier drivers may be better.

Hi Chris, I thought once MS had issued an update it was no longer possible to run a previous version. You should be on 1.8.16.0 MSFS will not update unless it is shut down and restarted. If that fails I would try a full PC reboot. It's an automatic update and you have no choice but to accept it when MSFS starts up. It's not that big and only takes a minute or two to download/update.

Hopefully you will get a few replies but I would say that a video card with 12 gb VRAM is not really sufficient to run MSFS at 4K. I have an RTX5080 with 16 gb VRAM and that is barely sufficient for me at a resolution of 1440. An RTX5090 would be the ultimate choice, but who can afford those prices, so compromises have to be made. If you want to use 4K, I suspect that you are going to have to use pretty dummed down settings but at 1440, yoou may be able to run with high and perhaps a few ultra settings. Tell ChatGPT or Gemini about your system and it will give you a pretty good starting point.
