ActiveRadar - Weather Tracking mode

Featured Replies

Why is the information displayed on the weather tracking mode screen not updated when the FS9 weather is updated by AS2004?I run AS2004 on a client PC and update ActiveRadar via WideFS. I have not yet created a flight plan as until now I have only flown circuits in the pattern around Orcas Island since purchasing AS2004. I have selected Online updates and the weather and surface winds are update regularly. This works just fine. The cloud and wind changes are reflected in the Radar Situation mode! However, the information displayed in the Weather Tracking mode does not change! Why is this ? Is it because a flight plan is missing?On one occasion I have reinstalled ActiveRadar on my FS9 PC and this did the trick next time I used FS9 and AS2004. However, the next day I was back to where I started ....the Weather Tracking mode again did not function.Any ideas?Kind regards,DavidMy ActiveRadar.cfg is as follows:AloftSource 0AloftStationEPRange 1000AloftStationInfluence 150AloftStormWindsEnable 1AloftUpdateInterval 120CloudDepth 3500CloudTransitionEnable 1CloudTransitionSpeed 2CycloneCDOWidth 20CycloneCentralPressure 900.00CycloneEnable 0CycloneEyeRadius 10CycloneEyeWallWidth 10CycloneLatitude 33.60CycloneLongitude -90.44CycloneMaxWinds 100CycloneOuterBandWidth 100CycloneOverridesLocal 0CycloneRainBandWidth 150DebugEnable 0DestinationLockEnable 0DestinationLockRange 50DestinationLockStation NONEFogEnable 1FogLimit 1000FogType cirrusGustsEnable 1HTTPTimeoutSeconds 20HotkeyVkCode 123IFieldMethodEnable 1IcingEnable 0Language English.csvLowVisEnable 1METFileCreationEnable 0METFileUpdateRate 10MainWindowPosition 1,3MiniWindowPosition 1,1ProxyEnable 0ProxyPort noneProxyServer noneRadarDimension 64RadarEnable 1RadarRenderingMethod 0RadarUseMasking 1StormEnable 1StormIcingEnable 1StormTurbulenceEnable 1StormWindSheerEnable 1SurfaceSource 1SurfaceStationEPRange 400SurfaceStationInfluence 2SurfaceStationInfluenceThreshold 65SurfaceUpdateInterval 5ToweringCumulusDepth 25000ToweringCumulusEnable 1TransitionRate 50UnitsSelection 0VarWindsEnable 1VisibilityLimit 2000VisibilityMaximum -1And the AS2004.ini contains:[General]WindowPosX = 2400WindowPosY = 3015DefaultWeatherFolder = C:UtilitiesWeatherAS2004ModulesActiveSky2004SuppressionCeiling = 2000SurfaceWindLimit = 10CloudLayerLimit = 3LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 50IncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = TrueOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = FalseUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = FalseRouteWindSmoothing = FalseLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueCCWindsFix = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = FalseAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = 2TAFProcessing = FalseEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = FalseStartPaused = TrueUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONE

Hi JimI followed your instructions and flew a couple of circuits. Unfortunately there was no change or update of the Weather Tracking mode. The wind was 15005KT and not as displayed in the attachment 27127KT.Any more suggestions?I have been pondering this situation and it occurred to me that I may have an artifact left over from WeatherCenter somewhere on my system which is interfering. Is this a possibility? It must be said though that WeatherCenter was uninstalled correctly to the best of my knowledge. What do you think?Kind regards, David

Jim I have since checked and proven that WC2 is completely uninstalled. Alas I still have the same problem. Weather updates OK but the Weather Tracking mode only works immediately after a re-install on my FS9 PC. Next time I restart the PC I'm back to where I started with a Weather Tracking mode which does not change despite changing weather which is displayed properly on the Radar situation display.Anymore ideas? This is really frustrating............Regards, DavidDenmark

Despite the fact that I've been patient, there has been no response from Damian.Maybe he is working to solve the problem, however, it would have been polite of him to acknowledge receipt of my mail. He has presumably choosen not to do so.Please tell me what I should make of this? (Being employed in a senior marketing role of an interantionally well known company with 34,000 employees, I have my own opinion on this matter.)Cordially, DavidDenmark.

Hi David,If you wrote through the Support address the e-mail did not go through because I get those e-mails also in my personal e-mail account and I did not get one from you. Please give Damian another message at the same personal address. You can make whatever you want out of this, but he has a real life, has a personal life, is supporting multiple products, is updating existing products, and developing future products. And somewhere he actually eats and sleeps. Now, if a week passes and he still has not been back to you, then please re-post and we'll see what we can do here! Thanks for your time!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Hi David,I apologize for the delay in response. I e-mailed you this morning. I have been holding response on most of my mail until MR2 development for AS2004 is complete. Sorry we were not able to get your issue solved through our other two support means (forum and Jim), but now that I'm aware of this outstanding issue, I'll do everything I can to get it working for you ASAP.Please check your e-mail and advise on your mapping folder, and we'll go from there. Thanks!
