Stutters when takeoff and land????

Featured Replies

hey all, i'm new to Active sky and from what i've seen i have alot to learn! One question at the mo is when i take off my screen stutters every 2 seconds even though the frame rate is reading 24! Then it stops and restarts when i'm about to land! It happens in ALL cockpit modes, 2D and VC.Is this just the program refreshing itself or have i a setting wrong somewhere? Also, how does one get weather downloaded, then go offline to fly with the new weather? I am loading the flightplan into fs2004 etc but not sure if this is the only thing to do?Any other tips from you 'pros' out there?CheerioDoug :)

Hi,Welcome to Active Sky! Do you get the landing stutters without AS running? Our manual does a pretty good job describing Offline Mode. Have Online Mode checked OFF, download the current weather or an archived weather set and then fly.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Hi,I have also noticed a stutter just after take off which it is not there when not using AS2004.I have just started to use AS2004 with Fs9 & i fly using the online updates.CheersMike.

Hi Doug,Do you have any of the bristish airports installed & are you flying out of one of these when it gets the stutters?I have vols 1-5 installed & i have noticed it stutter on take off & landing like your good self, So maybe it's not an AS2004 issue.Activesky support, any idea's?ThanksMike.

Mike,This thread is the first mention of any stutters on take-offs and/or landings. Could be add-on scenery, ariport details kicking in, AI planes becomming visible, users computers not able to keep up etc. The possible list could go on for some time.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

As I understand it, AS2004 uses global weather writes on the ground and between any reporting stations when local weather writes do not occur (the local writes from interpolation or reporting stations once in the air).Could there possibly be any stuttering issues when switching from global writes to local writes? FSUIPC docs say it affects global weather only so in switching from one environment to another, I wonder if that triggers a stutter.
