hellousing active sky there appear some strange squares when the program tries to reduce visibility. After takeoff there aren't problem. THese squares appear in de decent. Twice pressing the alt-key solves it for a while. Anybody who knows what this might be? MSFS 2004 works normal. I'm using the FSD group replacement clouds and the registered FSUIPC.I've encloses an exemplePlease let me know if you've any idea that may help. It's so frustrating when a nice flight ends up in squares..Herman LeusmanNetherlands

Have you also installed a cirrus set of clouds from here at AVSIM? This was a known issue with that set.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Hi Jim,I didn't know about that issue.. I try to install the original cirrus again and try. Thanks for your reply. I think it's not the program but thanks for your suggestion. I will let you know the results.Herman

Hi againyou were right. I know use the default cirrus clouds and all's working fine. But why do the FSD clouds cause these square problems?anyway, there's no square fog anymore. ThanksHerman

By FDS clouds do you mean Chris' clouds at FSW? His cloud set does not cause this to happen. A cirrus only set, here at AVSIM, had this problem. Maybe you had this cirrus set installed also?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Hi,Yes, your right, I have installed FSW Clouds. That are the only non-default clouds that I've installed. I've now replaced the default cirrusclouds. Though I didn't test very much it seems to me that the squares-problem is solved now. I've checked, but I can't find another cirrus-set voor MFMS 2004 here at AVSIM. I did use the very small cumulus01 bmp (about 10 kB). Which cirrusclouds do you mean?Herman

Well, I've tried all possible different settings in Active Sky, FSUIPC and flightsimulator; I've cleaned up my texturemap and put all the default textures in it and then replaced the clouds by the FSW clouds. So I suppose there can't be any "pollution" in my wheathersystem. But.. See my enclosed picture; They only appear whey I'm descending from flightlevels (let say from FL 200 or higher to about 6000 ft. Then suddenly these ennoying squares appear). When I press twice on the alt key they disappear but after a few minutes: there they are again.Though I don't think it's a problem of Active Sky I think this forum might give the best change to find a solution. Is there anybody who recognizes this symptomes?Herman Leusman

For the record I am using the 'Highest Performance tec V2' option from the FSW site.I too had the annoying squares on approach to EGCC several days ago. Prior to that no problems and since then no problem either.I should add that the squares appeared while I was above the broken cloud layer but once below - gone. I did think it may be something to do with shadows initially bu on reflection all the shadows options are turned off.Don't know what caused it and don't care - providing it stays away.Andy b

FPS and FIX V2 (4.5 MB). I use the texture replacement of "ffpv 2" clouds and the cirrusclouds dtx 3 from HIFIPS v2. You think it might be the wrong combination (The smaller the available clouds are the better is my computer smoothness..). By the way: using de 32 bits clouds or even the ms default clouds doesn't solve the problem. Only touching the "alt" key flattens the image and gives a bright view or a constant visibility limiting layerHerman

No more squares. I changed the driver of my graphic card. The newest isn't the best (for me and my ASUS videocard - Asus V9570 TD FX5700 256Mb). I reinstalled NVIDIA 45.23. The squares that appeared using 56.72 are now gone. Smooth weather again. Wow.Hermanby the way: increasing clockspeads on this videocard cause big problems (even shut down of the program...)
