Problems with creating own custom METARS with ActiveSky wxRE 1.92

Featured Replies

I have problems with creating weather by editing the metar reports in file metar**Z.met For example I wanted to create this weather:Visibility 3nm1000ft broken2500ft overcastrainso I've created this metarLKPR 021500Z 35007KT 3000 RA BKN005 OVC025 13/13 Q1016but in the game there was ALWAYS (I tried to wait a few minutes, but nothing has changed) visibility 2nm and broken clouds at 2800ft. I tried to set the METAR visibility to 4000, but then the visibility was 5, but never 3 as I wanted!!So I tried to make another9000ft scattered12000ft scattered28000ft scattered (it makes good 3D effect to these ugly FS2002 clouds)created this metar...LKKV 021500Z VRB02KT 9999 SCT090 SCT012 SCT280CU 16/08 Q1016But the situation was again completely different. There was Scattered clouds at about 5000ft and anything else......any suggestions?

Yes - I'm still working in offline mode......

Yes - in the program is everything going well.... see also the screenshot. And another thing, does ActiveSky wxRE have any limitations? such as maximum cloud layers or minimum distance between them.......

Try to use the upper box to create custom strings. wxRE will then process the string. That may be your problem. Cloud layers are limited to 3 or less, not sure on the altitudes.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

I tried also this possibility...... but still nothing :-/

Hi,3000 Meters is approx 2nm, so this vis seems right. Use 3SM if you want 3 statute miles. As for cloud cover being off, this is most likely related to the cloud transition smoothing. For exact depiction of what you have in the custom report, you'll need to disable cloud transitions.Hope that helps!-Damian

Thank you for suggestions....I've set the visibility to 3SM and it's now OK.But still the same problem with the clouds. Cloud transitions are DISABLED, I've also checked all the options in FSUIPC (only one cloud layer is set to OFF) and still nothing that would help :-/
