June 13, 200421 yr I'm doing a reinstall of as2004 and it seems to go fine but when I run it I get a Run-Time '372' error, followed by "failed to load control 'chilkat.zip' from chilkatzip.dll. Your version of chilkatzip.dll may be outdated. Make sure you are using the version control that was provided with your application."Wouldn't the application provide the required file, or is it something that's supposed to be in my windows directory? Thx!billgEDIT: I've read the other posts about this file and tried everything there. I've repaired the as2004 installation, then removed it and reinstalled, and still no go. I checked, and the file is definitely installed by as2004. I renamed the one in the directory, reinstalled as2004, and it was there. The one that it puts in is dated 18/09/2003. I really don't think it's put in by FS9 as I had just done a backup of the root fs9 directory before installing as2004 and it wasn't in there. I'm installing to the defaualt fs9 directory c:programfilesmsgamesflight simulator 9
June 13, 200421 yr got it. Uninstalled the update as well as the original as2004, then reinstalled both and it seems to work fine. It's the same chilkatzip.dll in the root fs9 directory though. Hmmm, don't you just love computers? :-)billg
June 13, 200421 yr Don't feel bad, I've seen it a few times also. Nothing earth stopping, but starts to make you wonder what's going on.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
June 14, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi guys,Chilkatzip.dll is the component required by AS2004 to uncompress and decrypt the server data files. It is installed at the initial AS2004 base installation and it can become problematic during update install if the incorrect AS2004 folder is selected. I suspect that may have happened, and as you noted, the correct repair procedure is to uninstall all AS2004 and re-install, making sure to choose the correct AS2004 path in the update process. Hope that helps!-Damian Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
