Something strange going on about TAFs

Featured Replies

Something strange has been happening since release of MR2.I do not know if it is due to MR2 itself or if you changed something else in the weather server (this i can't know).Anyway the problem is that sometimes AS fetches data from totally wrong stations.See pic for examplehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/80394.gif

Hi,The current wx file was corrupt... Please try a new download. This was only temporary as I was making a backup in preparation for server maintenance and you happened to download the file as it was locked for backup. Sorry guys! All better now...As to this particular thing happening before now, I can't see how, I have no logs showing problems... Perhaps it is something else with TAFs? If you get this again please let me know...-Damian

I didn't notice that you had answered to that post. You justified the fact that AS went looking in Corse, but in that specific case, around lira there are tons of tafs:lira, lirf, lire, lirg, liru, lirn, and many many more. All a lot near then 147nm.

Hi again,Thanks for that... I checked up, and you are right, something is wrong here in this area (and some others as well). The TAF data is not being reported via normal outlets. I am making additional enhancements in the server code to handle fetching this special TAF condition. Look for an improvement at the server end in a few days. Thanks again for the feedback!-Damian

Claudio,The update was made, and the TAF coverage should have increased significantly including those airports you mentioned. Please check it out (via new download as of 2100Z 6/17) and let me know how it goes! Thanks again!-Damian
