July 4, 200421 yr Everytime I get weather it's always old data. I have Online updates on, it updates time intervals correctly, however, it always gives me the wrong data. It used to give me data that was about 13 hours off (give me 05 instead of 18) I went to Download and entered 2004/7/4/19 and it gave a message saying the 18z weather was loaded. However, it still says active mx: 041750z. NOAA gives an 1850z METAR. I've tried on multiple airports and they all give the same "off by one" problem.
July 4, 200421 yr Hi Ryan,Is your time conversion value correct?Using system time in AS and in FS?Computer clock correct?Edit: What time zone are you in?FYI, 1750Z is the 18Z METAR.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

July 5, 200421 yr Sorry Ryan,I just saw that you responded. That is my fault. Is FS running while you are checking the above? Please post your AS2004.ini file.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
July 7, 200421 yr Commercial Member Hi Ryan,Remember that there can be a small lag. When the database is updated our server system must still collect the new data (from multiple sources, which also must be updated). It is set to update by default at approx. every 15 minutes. Thus if NOAA's data is updated at say 20:53Z (along with our sources) it may take until 21:08Z before the data is available on HiFi's server, and then you must have an update/download occur in AS2004 before you see the new weather. This lag is normal, and our weather server system has been tested and found the provide the most timely data available compared to other wx server systems including Microsoft's (by users).TAF processing should be enabled in order to get your weather to change as new wx forecast elements become valid. This prevents weather from becoming "stale" whenever a lag exists and valid forecast data is available. Some stations can also lag in their transmission of data (to worldwide sources including NOAA and ours), so TAF processing provides a good solution to both potential issues. When the METAR is finally updated and more current, the weather will morph back to the actual observation vs. forecast.Hope that helps! Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
