July 15, 200421 yr I read It's not possible to import as2004 windsdata into fsbuild2.1 .Is it still possible to import fsbuild flightplans into as2004 to calculate the route's winds?by the way is there a way to import winds data into fsnav 4.6 instead?in fact I'm considering whether to buy fsnav or fsbuild.thanksLuca
July 15, 200421 yr >if you haven't got fsbuild 2.2beta how do you get fsbuild to read >the as2004 weather? The 2.2 Beta is available to 2.0/2.1 registered users on request. Regards. Ernie.
July 15, 200421 yr hmmmm I have to decide if buying fsnav or fsbuild. At the moment I'm downloading fsbuild 1.4 freeware :)I m be tempted by fsbuild also because it exports plans to xplane too......
July 15, 200421 yr Hi,FSBuild is an excellent program, with excellent support! I am glad that other users stopped by to offer their help.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
July 16, 200421 yr How do you use the downloaded weather from AS2004 in FSBuild?I can't find such setting...?!!
July 16, 200421 yr Do you have V2.2 beta?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
July 16, 200421 yr I am using the freeware version...I'll bet the V2.2 beta isn't haha. This hobby is getting more and more expensive by the day :9 What else can FSBuild V2.2 do for / in AS2004?
July 16, 200421 yr >What else can FSBuild V2.2 do for / in AS2004?Really its the other way around. AS2004 can get weather conditions into FSB to allow for more accurate flight planning.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
July 18, 200421 yr What are the steps to do this? Currently I build my flightplan in FSBuild, export it, read it into AS2004, scroll down and get the average winds and then put that into FSBuild for fuel calculations. Then re-export the plan and print the navlog. Is there any other possibly easier way?
July 18, 200421 yr I think it's pretty much it.If you own version fsbuild 2.2beta you can import as2004 wx data directly into fsbuild.I not too sure though as I'm trying fsnav46 out and I think I'm buying it instead of fsbuild.by the way could you help me understanding flightplans planning?would you plan a flight including sid/stars straight away in fsbuild?as I don't understand how you can predict runways in use at both (dep/arr) airports.RLuca
July 18, 200421 yr You'll know the general runway in use by the direction of the winds. If you want to be sure that it will work regardless use a vector SID and then you'll be pretty safe so long as you aren't vectoring into arrivals. Either way, changing your SID isn't that much of a problem; your clearance controller will generally advise you of the correct departure to use if you filed incorrectly. If you look at a STAR you'll see that 99% (I'm not sure if all of them so I'll say 99) of them will work for any runways. Most will end with a fix where you will then be given vectors to the actives.
