Distorted Sound

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone.Just recently purchased AS2004 with all updates including latest registered version of FSUIPC.Currently running a Pent. 4-650.Since I have installed this program, when I am flying through heavy layers of clouds the sound becomes distorted and very slow.I am also running Radar Contact during these flights.Prior to purchasing AS2004 I used AS1.92 and also FSMeteo without the sound problemIs there a setting that I can change to correct this problem.I have most of the option boxs checked.Tks. for any assistance.Kenny G.

Hi Kenny,Thanks for the purchase! I have a feeling that your system is not able to keep up. You need to:Limit cloud layers in AS to 2 or 3.Decrease Cloud draw distance and sight distance in FS to the far left.Use the cloud textures from FSW.Also, try without RC running. How much memory does your system have?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Tks. for your reply Jim.1.6 gig, and 512 Mb Ram.I will try your other suggestions. If still a problem appears I may have to get a faster computer.Kenny G.

To stop the sound stutter, check this :"If you turn the sound acceleration to 'basic' does that solve the problem?""Run DXDiag (you can do this by typing DXDiag into the run program box), select the sound tab, and move the acceleration slider two notches left until it reads basic (assuming it was on full to begin with)." Thanks go to Scott Gridley for this find.http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004betateam.jpgPatrick/EBBR
