August 3, 200421 yr Hi Damian,I am so frustrated with my dialup connection that wzRE 1.92 isalmost useless for me to use. I am even running a program calledKeep It Alive so my browser thinks I am surfing. This is all tono avail as I get disconnected every 3 to 5 Minutes. As long asFS9, wxRE and RC are not running the keep it alive program willkeep me connected for hours without any input from me. What can I do.I live in a small town in Tennessee, U.S. I have a firewall butit is configured for fs9.exe and wxRE.exe to access. Any helpwill be greatly appreciated.;( Please change my face.
August 3, 200421 yr Is offline mode not an option for you? This is how I used to use wxRE and how I use AS2004 primarily now. Just a suggestion. It does sound as if there is a problem however...you don't have "autodisconnect" enabled, do you?Best,sg [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
August 3, 200421 yr Hi,Scott has the right idea for you; Offline Mode would work great. Download the current weather and disconnect. Most weather is updated once an hour anyway. You may also want to update your version. Some server issues were fixed.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
August 3, 200421 yr Thanks for the reply guy's.A couple of questions. After downloading wx I should disconnect and then use offline mode. What file do I use in the list? Would it be the the laast one listed? Also I do not have auto disconnect enabled. Is there another update besides 1.92? When going coast to coast shouldI connect and update the weather every hour or just before my arrival?I really do love flying in real world weather as sometimes it becomesa challenge.:D
August 3, 200421 yr Hi,Watch the "Hour for Download" Box. That will tell you which cycle file to use for the latest weather. There is an update to V1.92.4 It is at our website. I'll get it in a minute! Here it is: http://www.hifisim.com/wxre1924update.zipYou can update, but your weather may really jump around as new conditions may be present.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
