August 3, 200421 yr Tonight i took the challenge to have a flight in the default sailplane.I had the fortune of trying a real flight in a sailplane, and i really loved it, deeply.I have also flown in cessnas and big jets (who of us hasn't flown an airliner in real life?), but the sensations a sailplane gives you are unique. It's the blessing of being suspended in the air, the wings become extensions of your arms as you enjoy flying almost as you were a bird. And you turn, searching for the thermals to renue your energy and fly a little more before pointing the nose down to the airstrip. It's a thing you must feel at least once in your life.Much bettern the a "stupid" cessna. When you dive a bit, accelerating near the cliffs, ridges striking by, the sound of the wind increasing around you, almost feeling the pressure of the air below the wings keeping you in a state of dream.I even had the pleasure of really flying the sailplane for a few moments... wonderfull. Now onto a more real thing: AS2004 (my opinion) is approaching perfection, at least as much perfection as both FS2004 and FSUIPC allows. So i though of something new you HifiSim team could try to explore: the thermal generation. At the moment the only way i know is to create some fake bgl.Maybe you can think of something new and revolutionary, as you have accustomed us, to show to the sim community.A new first in weather representation.

August 4, 200421 yr Commercial Member :)I've already started putting together preliminary design specs for thermal and up/downdraft simulation, now possible thanks to Pete's new vertical wind control facility. This is one of the major new features planned for the next version of AS. ;) Damian ClarkHiFi Simulation Technologies
