When I start a flight I always have started AS2004 then FS and set clear skies in the weather, hit fly now, goto fsuipc and clear all weather, and refresh AS, my two problems are....1) The active runway is always rw3 regardless of the wind direction, like just now I started a flight and atis said the winds are 89/16 landing and departing rw03 instead of rw08. Even if I exit fs and restart using "previous flight".2) The metar says wind is 100/16 but fs says it's 89/16, 11 degrees is the mag dec. but shouldn't that already be figured in?Thanks,AllenMSFS2004Ultimate Traffic 2004Active Skies 2004 build 131FSUIPC 3.3.0.8 (Registered)FSBuild 2.1FS Flight Keeperhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

Hi Allen,The problem is that the wx doesn't load until after the flight is start and FS AI/ATC has already started, with the default runway...It takes time for the runway to change (for all existing aircraft in the queue to finish departing/landing on current runway). You can reload AI by changing your fs time slightly.B132, due soon, will have an option to "IGNORE FS READY STATUS" which will allow wx to be set before the flight is loaded, preventing this problem. The drawback is that this can lead to inconsistent WX if AS2004 tries to write wx while FS is busy loading/reloading a flight. So when using this option, it is a good idea to always do a refresh after any flight reload (change locations, aircraft crash, etc..)... just in case AS was trying to write during the reload.METAR/TAF/Winds text reports are always displayed in TRUE. Magnetic when SPOKEN via ATIS/flightwatch/shift-z/etc...Hope that helps!

Thanks Damian, Will have to wait for it to get windy to try it.Another Question for you on visibilty, metar says visibility is 10sm, atis says greater than 20, and flightwatch says its 50 miles?AllenMSFS2004Ultimate Traffic 2004Active Skies 2004 build 332FSUIPC 3.3.0.8 (Registered)FSBuild 2.1FS Flight Keeperhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpg

Hi Allen,That's all normal... METAR textual reports give 10sm max or 9999 meters max, but the actual visibility is usually higher. We use moisture calculations to extend the vis when 10sm/9999m found. In this case actual vis is 50 miles as reported by FW. ATIS resolution in FS9 maxes at 20.

The AI traffic will reload and ATC should be using a runway more aligned with the wind.Mark Kuebeler
