August 26, 200421 yr hi all,I still didn't figure out what "suppression ceiling" is doeing resp which ceiling should be entered. If i leave the standard 4.000ft, i get some cloud pop-ups. If i cange it to 45.000ft, everything runs very smooth. Jim proposed to leave it at 4.000ft to receive weather updates. My suppression range is set to 150nm.My understanding is now as follows: -With ceiling set to 45.000ft and a route <150nm, then no weather updates will occur on the route and at my destination (if a new weather file is downloaded in between) - the weather is somwehow suppressed or fixed from start to landing with the initial weather file. correct?-If my route now is longer than 150nm, my destination weather can be different as the intial one. Thus, only the weather in between of 150nm is suppressed (or fixed) and no updates will occur. So, on longer flights or greater then 150nm my destination weather depends on the update - correct? If my understanding is correct, i'll leave the 45.000ft, because this gives me the smoothest ride with slow weather changes and mno pop-ups.thanks and cheers!harald
August 28, 200421 yr Hi,You already know my suggestions! That is why I didn't answer up to now. We have tried to include as many user adjusted options as possible and add more, it seems like, with each build. If your settings work for you, and you have an understanding of what they do, then go for it!! There is not one set fits all rule over here!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
