Featured Replies

Hi folks, what does this "friendly" message mean?If i download current weather all is fine but cannot download archive :-( neither recent nor oldie...The weather file folder is the default AS2004 folder! ...modulesActiveSky2004Any hint? Thanks in advance for helpingLuigi ;-)http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/89795.jpg

...if i swap to default .ini file (August 25th 2004) archive downloads work like a charm..........What should be wrong with my edited cfg?Thanks again for helpingLuigi ;-)//AS2004.5 configuration file Build 142[General]WindowPosX = 3555WindowPosY = 3315DefaultWeatherFolder = E:ActiveSky 2004ModulesActiveSky2004SuppressionCeiling = 4000SurfaceWindLimit = 10CloudLayerLimit = 5LocalSuppressionRange = 150MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 50LastPlanFolder = NONEIncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseForceTstormsWithCB = TrueAutoConvertPlanFiles = TrueForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = TrueOnlineUpdates = FalseExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseDepictFS9HazeLayer = TrueDisableDirectWindControl = FalseVoicePlayback = TrueLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = FalseDisableGroundUpdates = TrueUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = TrueUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueIgnoreFSReadyStatus = FalseFSUIPCWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueRainWithTS = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = FalseAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = 2AloftPredictability = 100WindDriftRate = 2TAFProcessing = FalseEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = FalseStartPaused = FalseUseSystemTime = FalseDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONE

Hi Luigi,It appears that your set folder E:ActiveSky 2004ModulesActiveSky2004 is not working for access to such folder for some reason. Usually this means that folder simply does not exist. You mention that a default .ini works fine but once you edit it, it does not? Please try this:Set the folder to *** so:DefaultWeatherFolder = ***Then try a download. (AS will use the default AS folder)Then go into AS2004.5, options, save options (this now writes the default AS folder as the DefaultWeatherFolder). Then try another download. Still working? If not, please send me the saved .ini and I will examine... If it works, then the problem is in the folder itself... make sure you are using a valid folder. You can browse using AS options to find a valid one.Let me know.. thanks Luigi!

Hi,i'm running AS2004 on a client PC (via WideFS) where install folder is E:ActiveSky2004; so correct weather folder seems to be E:ActiveSky2004ModulesActiveSky2004 (and so it appears into option tab). But it doesn't work! Now, if i set:DefaultWeatherFolder = ***download archive works. After that i save options and consequentially write into AS2004.ini.At that point my .ini file is identical as before; the only difference is that i had to set DefaultWeatherFolder = E:ActiveSky2004ModulesActiveSky2004 coming from DefaultWeatherFolder = *** via options tab :-hmmm Anyway now AS2004 works fine :-coolP.S. forgotten to tell you i had to format/restore main HD partition using NORTON GHOST; now all is clear, after such kind of tasks i must restore DefaultWeatherFolder = *** and then save options. Thanks for helpingLuigi ;-)
