re-installation

I need to re-install ActiveSky2004 and I'm wondering about that sequence. I am an original purchaser, so I have all the files from as-wxre on, including all of the updates for wxRE, and then for AS2004, HIFI-AS2004_wxre_verification, and then all the updates for that. What files do I need, and what is the recommended re-installion procedure? Many thanks, keith

Hi Keith,1. Make sure wxRE is installed. Any version is fine, even 1.0. No updates are needed.2. Make sure AS2004 is uninstalled.3. Re-install AS2004.4. Update directly to at least MR1 or to MR2 beta if you wish.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Jim,Thanks for the info. I'm having the problem where FS2004 ATC and Radar Contact are not in sync with Active Sky real time weather. The weather displayed is correct, but the weather reporting is not. I was following the threads on that for a while; maybe it's related to the beta upgrade or not, but a reinstall seems required. I wish I had more time to fly (and figure this out)! One question: If I have the registered version of FSUIPC, will it improve Active Sky performance in any way? keith

Hi Keith,Yes, some have had trouble with FS ATC. No reports of trouble with RC though, that I know of.We encourage users to support Pete and his efforts. The payed version will give you advanced options.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

I too am one of the first ActiveSky users. It started with the freeware version, then wxRE followed by AS2004. I bought the wxRE-to-AS2004 upgrade version. In order to be legimate for this upgrade, a wxRE version has to be installed. Logical, but...I do not like the idea of having to install an old -not to be used by me- version of wxRE just to be able to install AS2004. I've been in contact with Damian some time ago about a full and clean install possibility. Damian agreed by this and was going to look into it. What it in fact comes down to, is to provide a base AS2004 installer to 'old' wxRE registered-and-upgraded users. I hope this will happen some day...
