New ActiveSky User Question

Featured Replies

Greetings All,I've just recently been using ActiveSky and have a question I was unable to find in the instructions. At some airports and reporting points I get KSEA(Dynamic) then the information. What does the (Dynamic) mean? I also noticed that the weather seems inacurate when it says that. Can anyone help. Thanks very much.Brian

Hi Brian And Welcome,That means, that for whatever reason(s), that station did not have a valid METAR report. AS then combines and processes some local METARs to produce the METAR in question. It may not be 100% accurate, but it will be close. Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Hi,Actually this is wxRE right? In wxRE, Dynamic reports are those which are created via TAF processing. Disable TAF processing to prevent such dynamic entries. Please see the manual for more information about this feature... Let us know if you have any questions!

Thanks guys.In any event, it appears that the METAR report is showing incorrect data. In my example, KSEA(Dynamic) was showing 3m visibility in rain when real world was showing 10miles visibility and no rain.I appreciate your input. Thanks,Brian

Hi Brian,Dynamic means it is not using the METAR report but rather the forecast based on that time. So this is normal. Disable taf processing to disable this "effect". Also check your time zone settings and make sure everything is accurate. Hope that helps!
