Active Sky & Radar Contact

Featured Replies

Hi AllJust wanted to share with others a problem I was having with Active Sky and Radar Contact. When I purchased this great program several months ago and used it in conjunction with Radar Contact, I was finding that on long hauls where I would set Radar Contact to pause at 90 miles for any extended length of time two hours to 12 hours, and when I unpaused Radar Contact, the weather I was receiving from the destingation Airport was not the same as what ActiveSky was forcasting.I believe the problem was because the pause distance was less then 100 miles which is the suppression range which I had selected for AS.I now set the pause distance at 125 miles from destination and for the past several weeks no matter how long I pause FSSim 2004 I always receive the exact weather at my destination as what Active Skywatch is forcasting.Just thought I would mention this in the event others have been experiencing the same problem.Happy Simming.Kenny G.

Hi Kenny,Your observations are correct. We in the final stages of work on RC V4. For a number of reasons in the new version which I can elaborate on, I wouls suggest that you go back to the default distance to pause at 200 miles from destination. Radar Contact V4 works so much more as the real world, and a lot of things start to happen within that 200 mile window now :-)Bob Johnson
