December 14, 200223 yr I just purchased this addon and want to believe in it but the one main thing I brought it for is not making me pleased and the one thing that I disliked about ver 3 is still present in this one.So heres my questions:1) The wake turblance doesnt seem to cause major turblance. Has anyone crashed or been turned upside down with this yet? I flew a 172 behind a heavy and noticed wake but nothing that impressed me and I had to be right on its tail to notice it.2) Once at alt and tuned into atis the atis reports the wind from the winds alot instead of the surface winds. Please help me so that it reports surface winds instead of winds alot.I dont want to say that this addon isnt worth owning just want to get more wake and fix the atis winds.Kilstorm
December 14, 200223 yr Fly in the path of a 747 and you will see wake turbulance. You will not see to much turbulance from fling behind a Cessna :(. check Adjust weather to ATIS in FSUIPC to get a proper ATIS reading :) It is almost must to read the manual this is a very deep program. You must have it setup exactly as the manual states in order for it to work proper :) Capt.Richard Dillon (KATL)www.jetstarairlines.comhttp://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpghttp://jdtllc.com/images/RCsupporter.jpg"Lets Roll" 9/11 -----------------------Specs AMD 1600 XP MSI KT 266t pro2 512MB DDR 2100Asus GF4 ti 4200 128MBSBliveCh Products Yoke and Pedals(usb)Windows 2000 Serivce Pack 3
December 14, 200223 yr Author Commercial Member Hello,1) Wake turbulence depends on many conditional and random factors. It will not always make you crash. It also largy depends on the configuration of the wake-generating aircraft.. the more lift it is creating (landing is the most amount of lift) the more wake it is generating, and the more wake you are likely to experience in AS wxRE. 2) ATIS winds reporting... we are using certain routines that require only one virtual wind layer in FS. When you are aloft the surface wind layer is used and thus ATIS reports the wind direction and speed experienced at the altitude of your aircraft. When you are FORCED to your destination your wind direction will match the landing direction to give you proper runway info (and ATC instruction) but the wind speed will be your aloft wind speed. To overcome this ATIS wind speed issue:You can use FlightWatch on 122.00 to get the weather (with correct winds) however you want it (current and custom/destination if set).We are also currently working on a new ATIS and FLIGHTWATCH FULL VOICE feature that is meant to replace and add functionality to FS's ATIS. It should also be known that major work is also being done on improving the wake turbulence simulation complexity and realism (same goes for all features existing and planned)!
