February 14, 200521 yr hello, after reading the forum i am i little confused, i think when you use the normal fs9 visibility (60 mile) and clouds draw, without any extra program, this is not looking reallistic. And is also heavy on the fps.My question is: now i use as 2004.5 b174, and the latest payware fsuipc (where it's also possible to change visibillity etc, can someone point me in the right direction for reallistic looks.i also think it's better for the fps (at least a small cloud draw distance)regards, rick
February 14, 200521 yr Hi,No right values. Some like unlimited visibility and some don't. I set mine at 59 and my cloud draw distance at 50.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
February 14, 200521 yr The reason i wan't to know this, is because fs9 has sight distance 60 mile as minimum, and i want to use cloud draw 40 or 50, so then you have those open "gap" between the clouds and the horizon.rick

There are relatively few days in the year where visibility is higher even in sunny Arizona. Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.
February 14, 200521 yr Hi Rick,No, just the free version of FSUIPC. For you, set max. visibility at 59 in AS, and try 60/60 in FS04 for sight distance and cloud draw distance.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
February 15, 200521 yr tried that, looks good but is to heavy foor me pc on some occasions,is it possible to make the "world smaller" with clouds drawn to 40 or max 50 ( by then fps are starting to go under 25). In the real world there is always this "haze"in the distance. regards rick
February 15, 200521 yr You can reduce things as much as you need to. The lowest cloud draw distance is 30.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
February 16, 200521 yr sorry that i keep "nagging" about this, what i did is set max visibility in as to 39 and cloud draw in fs to 40. Is it possible "to put a haze" so that the vis is gradually reducing. I have registered fsuipc 3.45 and tried with that also but it (if i am doing it right) doesn't look natural. Sometimes when you fly in thin cloud layer you have this affect, but i don't know how to duplicate.i have been at pete downson site but he did.n't give me any special settings or so, that is not meant negative, his reply was even quick. When i have vis at 39 and cloud draw at 40 fps are perfect.regards, rick
February 16, 200521 yr Do you have FS9 haze On?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg
February 16, 200521 yr switched it off, and then it works, my english is not so good,i thought that when it eas selected it was on. now i can even right away choose what i like, it changes directly, thanks for your patience.now i have put it on 29 (visibility) and 30 for clouds draw. i have 3d clouds 100 procent and max clouds, with fsw hifps clouds.it's the only way i can reach it.thanks, rick
