Not getting correct weather

Featured Replies

Have installed the latest updates of both Active Aky and FSUIPC but I do not believe I am getting the correct weather. For example today at EDDL the METAR wasEDDL 031950Z 31002KT 9999 FEW025 15/09 Q1012 NOSIG RMK SUPPRESSEDAnd all I got was clear skies and the default temperature 14 degrees. There did not seem to be any change to the weather whatsoever. Not had these problems beforeShould if I am reading the METAR correct be at lest 25% broken cloud coverage and 15 degrees temperature.ThanksJohn

Hi John>Should if I am reading the METAR correct be at lest 25% broken cloud coverage and 15 degrees temperature. No FEW025 is few clouds at 2500ft, the 025 is the altitude not cloud%CheersTony

Hi,And just to add to this: the temperature in the METAR is 15 and you had 14 in FS. That is acceptable. There is a small amount of randomness built in.Edit: Are you still getting no clouds? Were you in the air or on the ground at the time?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/as2004proudsupporter.jpg

Actually I sorted out the problem myself; silly mistake on my part as I did not have the cloud setting at the right level in the scenery options.BTW I also got upgraded by AOLUK this morning to more powerful modem drivers in preperation for an upgrade to their 1mb service and the difference in cloud pattern is incredible. I would never have believed that a modem driver could make so much impact but after this experience I suggest anyone else wondering if they are getting the correct weather should think about their modems. Thanks for all thh hard work and looking forard eagerly to the new version.John
