June 11, 200520 yr I'm starting a new thread here to separate the "Should I buy?" question from the "How should I use?" questions. Jose comments at the end of the Other Thread that "In ASV you can choose the clouds from a 512x512 resolution to a 64x64 resolution. You can even enable mips. This allows you to choose the best cloud configuration to balance your AI/Scenery taste."The resolution item was important for me -- I've been using the 64x64 clouds from HiFPSv2, and I think I need to stick with that. Regarding the MIPs, though: manual says that enabling them will improve performance. Anyone care to say why, and whether this is true across the board? (I am stuck with a Radeon 9100 video card.)Thanks for any help and advice. I'm downloading the program as I write. S-L-O-W. But no one put a gun to my head and said "Download it the first day it's out," either.
