Low priority suggestion about AS server status

Featured Replies

Hi all,Recently there have been some issues with the server missing or providing wrong dates. Also some maintenance was done by the HiFiSim team. To prevent extra work and frustration, I suggest that any planned/known work on the server is announced in a pinned topic (or even -if possible- in ASV itself). Once the work is over, the topic can either be closed or removed. As mentioned, right after the SU2 release this is a very minor suggestion, though I also mentioned it here: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho..._id=19059&page=Just thought to drop it in a new topic so people can react.Kind regards,Henk-Jan

Hi,I did see this in one of those threads; thanks! It is a good suggestion and if I know about it I will make a post if I can. But:Sometimes we don't know in advance.Sometimes a 5 minute job may take longer than expected.Sometimes we are asleep when the server goes down.Sometimes it happens during "real world" stuff and I can't get over here!If I can I will do my best to post!!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

Fair enough, Jim! You could make a sticky topic for server messages only. If a customer suspects a server issue, this would be the first place to check for known problems. If there is no current issue listed, a user can post a new message in this topic. This also allows you -and other customers- to quickly check for the last message posted in there. Sure: no guarantees, but it might help a bit...Regards,Henk-Jan
