June 15, 200520 yr Hi,Help me out if I misunderstand here:You re-installed AS2004, you updated to B193 which gives you AS2004.5, you copied the latest FSUIPC.dll and pasted in the Modules folder. Now when you run FS04 and AS they don't communicate? Was AS totally uninstalled before you started? Is FSUIPC in the right place? What does AS show? Please let me know!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
June 15, 200520 yr Jim,That was quick :D Great support here"You re-installed AS2004, you updated to B193 which gives you AS2004.5, you copied the latest FSUIPC.dll and pasted in the Modules folder. Now when you run FS04 and AS they don't communicate?" - Yes "Was AS totally uninstalled before you started?" - I uninstalled it useing the windows uninstaller, before I installed it and updated it."Is FSUIPC in the right place?" - Yes"What does AS show?" - Load Flight Simulator to begin weather processing..., AS2004.5 not connected to Flight SimulatorMartin
June 15, 200520 yr Hi,OK, thanks for that info. It was time to check the early evening posts!I need you to double check that FSUIPC is in the main Modules folder in FS. I know there is the copy in the AS2004 folder, but is it in the Modules folder and is there only one. You didn't re-name one did you? Also, was anti virus turned off during install and update?Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
June 15, 200520 yr The FSUIPC is in the main Modules folder in FS. And it's not renaimed and FS is able to find FSUIPC and it is also set to "Weather Settings Off"Anti virus was enabled doing installed.Martin
June 15, 200520 yr Ok,During installation with anti-virus On some files may have not been installed/registered correctly. Do a complete uninstall /re-install cycle with AV turned Off. As long as you are not on the Internet your machine will be fine for a bit.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

June 16, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi Martin,AS is running without error messages, just showing no connection to FS9, and it is not processing anything? Is this correct? And FS9 is running, with FSUIPC installed, no connection? If so, this is an FSUIPC issue, we've had this crop up about 5 times before over the years... Some have solved by reinstalling FSUIPC (delete everything FSUIPC related including .ini and .key). Others have received direct support with Pete Dowson for resolution (not sure how these turned out but I assume they got fixed). You can check in your fsuipc.log file, it should show some key information about the problem.Does startup order of FS9/AS2004 have any different result?Sorry for the problem.. I am (almost!) positive it has nothing to do with AS but we'll keep trying to help get it sorted out. Let us know on the reinstall, .log, and startup order. Thanks! June 16, 200520 yr "AS is running without error messages, just showing no connection to FS9, and it is not processing anything? Is this correct?" - It did download the weather, but it didn't process it into FS"And FS9 is running, with FSUIPC installed, no connection?" - Yes"Does startup order of FS9/AS2004 have any different result?" - I did try this before the reinstall suggested, with the same result.I will try to do a compleat reinstall on sunday, I'll let you know the result. I did have problems like this with other external programs.Thank you,Martin
