Why KSEA metar appears when I'm not there?

Featured Replies

Hello there.I'm a very happy user of ASV, you've done a very great work!I have a little annoying thing to report.I start my flights usually in this way:- start ASV, process the flight plane and then hit 'Refresh' to submit the textures to FS9- start FS9, setup my flight and start it from an airport that's _not_ KSEA. Briefly the 'metar strip' on the top shows my local METAR- I then start&connect FS Flight Keeper from inside the cockpit (using the 'flights' menu. FSFK loads and start the new flight record correctlyBut at this point the 'metar strip' on the top reappears reporting me the KSEA METAR... All the weather in my current airport is then changed according to the KSEA metar. After a short time (20-40 seconds) the 'metar strip' reappears again reporting me my correct metar, and the weather is then changed back to reflect this. This happens regardless of my departing airport. This doesn't happen with AS2004.5After that starting quirk, for the rest of the flight ASV works perfectly.Any ideas about? Thanks in advanceStefano

OK then things are acting normal! FS04 is a slow reacting, slow loading, data intense program, and it does not release its data too quickly. What you are seeing is the "data lag"; the time it takes FS04, FSUIPC and ASV to release old data and recognize new data and then process it. Hope this explains things!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg

Thanks, this explain things. But why it doesn't happen with AS2004.5?And why does it happen only in the first few minutes of my flight? If I switch to another app during flight I have no probs. Maybe this happens only during the intial FS weather station data refresh performed by ASV?This is not a problem, anyway. Only a little glitch :)Stefano
