June 22, 200520 yr Hi all,I'm doing a flight from KSTL to KTUL, here is the current ATIS:KSTL 222314Z 29005KT 10SM BKN040CB 32/19 A3013 RMK DYNAMIC TAF ELEMENTAnd decoded:Wind: 290 True, 5 KtsVis: 9999 Meters, 10 SMClouds: 4000 OvercastPrecip: Heavy RainTemp: 32C Dew: 19CPressure: 1020.19 mb, 30.13 inchesSure enough I checked the weather in St Louis, and it's fair. Why did AS decode the above like Broken clouds to mean Overcast, it got the 4000 right, then where did it get the heavy rain? It's not even supposed to rain, and why does it say TAF in the weather report when I've loaded the current real time in St Louis. Please help I'm sure there's a simple fix that I overlooked. Thanks,Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
June 22, 200520 yr Hi Jeff,I'll answer by first saying I'm not sure! Is TAF processing On?The heavy rain is from the CB element, but also the CB element is causing the OVC. I will add this to my list to Damian.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
