  1. Question, this 34 inch Dell we're currently discussing does not have a DVI port? As I understand, DVI is better for gaming than HDMI. Does anyone have any comments on that? Thanks.
  2. I'll be there next month! Great shots!
  3. Why would he not visit his support forum?
  4. You were are on a IFR flight plan weren't you? j/k
  5. I'm happy with FSX:SE, though in a new flight sim the most important thing would be that the entire engine be overhauled so that it is better optimized. I just purchased GTA5 for PC, it has cutting edge graphics and my 3- 4 year old computer runs it like a champ on high graphics. A 9 year old flight simulator should run better, but it doesn't, so please above all else, give us something that will run smooth.
  6. Would this be a good plane to purchase? I have the Milviz 310 and am thrilled with the way it flies compared to the real world version, though some switches and stuff are not active. How would you rate this bird, I am an FSX-SE user (I do not use P3D). Great shots as always Ryan!
  7. I thought Aerosoft was working on a simulator too, or was it another company, I can't quite remember.
  8. I'm confused, does FSX get a DC-6 as well or just X-Plane?
  9. It works just fine Rob, for some reason it crashed from free flight mode, but when I loaded another plane, and then switched to the Duke, everything was good. Thanks for checking.
  10. I can report that the Real Air Duke and the Milviz C-310 are working, but my Flight 1 King Air doesn't display a VC as is the situation every time DTG updates FSX.
  11. Steve, you said if you have "many" cores you need AM. How many exactly is many? I have a 2600k oc'd to 4.4 HT is off, do I need AM?
  12. Love the shots, but it's a little too green for this time of year.
  13. Know that when you fly the Citation X you're flying a machine that can fly much higher and much faster than most tube airliners today, they are awesome aren't they? And I remember seeing one for the first time in person, they're so sleek and fast looking it's incredible. Good purchase Claude.
  14. Tom, please fight this, go to every treatment center that might have idea, don't stop fighting this, do everything you possibly can to help yourself, I want to hear that you will try. I had a teacher who had cancer twice, it came back when I had his class a couple of years ago, it developed in his liver, lungs, and bone marrow, they did an experimental treatment and he beat it, we want the same for you.
  15. Ah, the old piston Duke, I love it, great shots Ryan!
  16. Brett are you in Michigan by any chance? We have Kalamazoo and Muskegon, both of which are Class D with a TRSA.
  17. Ryan, since you're an ATC guy, I'd be interested in knowing which airports around the country have changed airspace designations over the last five years or so, especially which airports changed from C to B or B to C if there are any, or even D to C. I kind of have a thing for almanac like statistics. Also, is there a place to find this type of data? Thanks! As far as the original question, this may be a little off topic, but I got my PPL at a Class C airport, then got my Instrument and Commercial at a Class D airport located close to a Class C, and I have never uttered the phrase in your title before. To fly into Class D airspace, you are only required two-way radio communications, you shouldn't have to ask for a "transition." Simply establishing radio comm implies clearance into the airspace. This is the same with Class C as well, except that you will need a transponder with mode C in addition to the two-way radio communication.
  18. Hi Rob, I agree with you. Second, I love your products, I'm your customer for life. I was just saying that DTG seems to be doing good things by updating FSX, nothing towards you or anyone else.
  19. After all the negativity expressed towards DTG lately in another thread, I feel that I made a really good purchase decision when I bought FSX:SE in December, it seems that they are keeping promises and actively fixing/refining FSX into something we did not have all these years. Good on ya Dovetail!
  20. There's a lot of 50% products out there Elaine, it's not worth your $5
  21. Hi Jim, of course it's going to get a little complicated when people who develop addons for games want to publish their work as well. This is all new territory for Steam. Think about PC gaming for a minute. DLCs come from the developers. All of Skyrim's DLCs were from Bethesda weren't they? Think about how difficult it would be for Steam to try and figure out how to handle companies like Abacus, ORBX, and Flight 1 who are not game developers, but are developers of addons for games. Some of these are already publishers as well. That's not what Steam is really about, so I see your point, but it doesn't really apply to Steam.
  22. And how much do you think Steam "squeezes" from developers? The answer to that is, the true amount is written in a contract between Steam and the developer, but I can tell you the arrangement is equitable and beneficial to both parties, why do you think that this platform is so popular? A lot of times, Kickstarter=bad, Steam=good.
  23. You guys are a tough crowd, but it's all not exactly as you say Rob. Remember that Steam is a community for *PC* gaming, both for developers and gamers. Yes, it is a publisher as well, and of course publishers exist to make a profit, that much is understood, but it's not all negative. I am a cynic too, but I think the truth is that it's not as dire as you suggest it might be. It's because of Steam that startup developers now have a world wide audience to showcase, develop, and test their products. Developer and gamer interaction is a big part of what makes Steam great. As I mentioned, Steam is for PC gaming, which has slowly been dying off (if you haven't noticed). I think of Steam as the catalyst for the revival of PC gaming. I would further argue that EA is the "Walmart" of the gaming world. Realize that consoles are big business now, not just big, enormous, gigantic, and any other synonym you can think of. If people stopped purchasing PC games from EA, would they be hurting at all? The answer is probably not by the way. Yes, I understand that Steam has grown and possibly even dominates the PC gaming market, but again, the PC gaming market is of course a very small percentage of the total gaming market, and I sing it's praises, because I have been gaming exclusively on PCs since 1992, and something tells me this is a good thing for PC games.
  24. My apologies Rob, I thought you offered up an opinion somewhere in another thread.
