  1. Yes, the Real Air Duke works fine, Accusim works great, UTX is fine, Flight 1 just released the King Air 200 installer with FSX SE support. The Citation should follow soon. Oh and Digital Aviation Cheyenne package and REX 4 TD work well also.
  2. Bert, How can I tell if I have the latest version of the PC-12 I did not find an update2.xml file I did find a Gauge_Update.xml file which I edited to say UTC time in place of local. I purchased my my PC-12 from PC-Aviator because the Carenado stores web pay app wouldn't accept my credit card for whatever reason, I guess it must be outside of the US because I have out of country purchases blocked for security... Anyhow.............. because I purchased from PC-Aviator, I do not have access to Carenado updates that would show up under my purchases. I will try to email them. Hope I solved the problem though, thanks Bert.
  3. Hi Bert, I have your mods as well. I'm still not exactly clear why flying into a different time zone would cause such a mess, I've done it plenty of times. As far as my system goes, I'm happy to report no OOM with FSX-SE yet. Thanks all!
  4. Hi, I'm frustrated by this, I haven't completed a flight in FS in a long, long time. First because of FSX and OOM crashes, now FSX-SE because I bought the PC-12 yesterday, thought I was good to go, but right as I hit 12,000ft on my short hop from Muskegon to Green Bay, all hell broke loose, and I tried to cancel all of the alarms, and lights, and stick shakers, but was unable to. I'm not sure what would cause this, I'm hoping someone out there knows what I could do to ensure this doesn't happen. Thanks!! Additional info, engine temps were good, speed was good, everything was situation normal at the time.
  5. I heard they produced a Reno Airport scenery and as a Nevada native I am super interested in this, but they have all but disappeared from the internet. Anyone have any information on these guys? Thanks.
  6. Craig, thank you. Also, I am glad you told me to stay away from the Wilco TBM850, as it is one of my favorite real world aircraft. So I was at Carenado.com checking out some pics of the PC-12. The PC-12 has no prop control, yet I noticed one shot in air showed the engine RPM at 1191, in the real world it should be upper 1600s, Flight had correctly modeled this aspect, has Carenado not correctly modeled this as well?
  7. Danster, Awf or Andre Folkers is an extremely talented computer graphics designer who has been in this hobby for many years and has developed some nice freeware and is part of some of the better payware that's out there as well... Point being he knows what he is talking about.
  8. Ryan, Can the Flight 1 GTN 750 not integrate into the PC-12 in FSX, I have the steam edition which I use exclusively now? Short story... I am fortunate enough to have met a PC-12 owner and got an hour and half ride with him while he learned his new GTN 750 upgrade which was awesome by the way. The real world GTN 750 units were so easy to use, everything was touch screen and the menus were extremely user friendly and intuitive much like our smart phones and tablets. We took off did a turn out the south requested a GPS approach on our own navigation and so I punched in the approach selected my waypoint, pressed the AP button and then the NAV and the APP button, and the airplane flew the whole thing down to mins itself, procedure turn and everything, it was really cool for a guy like me who has only flown piston aircraft with very basic autopilots and the Garmin 530s.
  9. Stan, Do I understand correctly that you do not recommend the Razbam Metro?
  10. Topic says it all thanks a lot! Please recommend additional aircraft as well that kind of fit here, like I'd say charter type aircraft are what I enjoy simulating, not really into the big airliners anymore. Carenado PC-12 Carenado B1900 Wilco Piaggio Avanti II Wilco TBM850 Eaglesoft CJ1 Version 2 (This hopefully is really good, because it's quite expensive) Razbam Metro Flysimware 441 Flysimware 402 I think that's about it. I HAVE the following and can highly recommend all of them: Flight 1 Super King Air (B200) Flight 1 Cessna Citation Mustang Real Air Duke, piston Digital Aviation Cheyenne package Basler BT6 conversion package (Freeware and very well done!)
  11. I've only installed a few things to a clean FSX-SE, so now I've erased everything that I've installed, except the textures as I don't believe textures would cause an issue. Anyway, I can't for some reason copy the crash report and paste it here, but one crash said it was terrain.dll and the other was API.dll so I've not really done anything to modify those. I am so frustrated I can't even convey right now. Any ideas are much appreciated. Thanks! I'm having lots of trouble with this forum software. It won't let me paste my crash reports, I have saved them as a notepad file, can I attach it somehow? Thanks! fgdjthdfghjn
  12. Vic, when you said, P3D is an EXCELLENT training tool for approaches, can you expand on that a little bit? For instance, what makes it excellent, and what makes it better than FSX overall in the instrument department? Thanks! Singlecoil, Thank you, I hadn't given much thought to X-Plane as I tried the demo years ago and it was a little clunky trying to setup. Also, I had difficulty panning around the cockpit, has X-Plane improved in that area recently? Thanks.
  13. That's fine sir, and I appreciate your input, please don't judge me however, as you're off the mark. The truth is, I'm not looking for excuses not to do something, just the opposite actually, I'm looking for excuses to purchase. Shooting approaches and practicing real-world instrument procedures is really what I do for the most part in the sim these days. It used to be that I would want to have the most complex airliner available and pretend to be captain, now I just want what will help me in the real-world, and I think these desktop sims are well suited for instrument practice. No offense intended, just wanted you to know what it is I'm looking for. Thanks!
  14. Thanks for the replies, I actually brought this question over to the official P3D forums, because I think that instead of asking users why LM didn't put something into it that they should have, I should ask them directly. Ultimately, I think it's wrong in a way for them to not only say that their product is for real-world training, but to go as far as saying that P3D is strictly not for entertainment purposes and then go and leave out something completely necessary to real-world flight training. I guess for the price, I will stick with FSX, if P3D was like $100 dollars or something, sure why not upgrade, but I can't justify $200 and have the same old data as FSX. Thanks all,
  15. As I understand P3D is an aviation training tool. In fact from what I have read it is specifically not for entertainment purposes. That's fine I need good sim training especially for instrument stuff. I am wondering though, if this software is for real-world training why is the navdata the same as FSX? If I wanted to go and practice some GPS approaches at my local airport, apparently I'm not able to do so, because everything is out of date? When I first heard that P3D was coming out, I got excited because I thought that it would be kept up-to-date, but from what I have heard that is not that case. Can someone expand on this a bit, I am a little confused. Thanks!
  16. I love my Flight 1 King Air, but I had really hoped that they would have included a realistic prop animation during start like these guys. This is next on my list.
  17. Was it you guys or Razbam that is doing a PC-12 (my favorite aircraft)?
  18. And that's why I wish they would have just done a standard flightdeck with a 530 in it or something. The question now is, is it worth $30?
  19. For 30 bucks US, if its pretty good it might be a good deal.
  20. Was wondering if anyone has tried this yet? It appears to be out as I was able to add it to my shopping cart (can someone verify?). This release looks promising as it is part of their new Hifi line.
  21. Hi, when I go to avsim.com, it takes me to forum.avsim.net A few days ago I was able to go right to the front page and read what was released and what files were uploaded, etc, etc. Now I'm not sure how to access the front page, I clicked AVSIM at the top of this page, but again it takes me to the forums. Is this something on my end, or did you guys change it up? Finally, where can I view the front page or at least read the latest news and stuff like that? Thanks
  22. Also, the Wilco TBM850 coming out this month. I have hope for this one. Here: http://www.wilcopub.com/simulator-add-on/tbm850-fsx-p3d-6586.html
