June 26, 200520 yr Im doing some cleaning of my hard drive today and noticed that in the "Add/Remove programs and also in the start icon, I have both AS2004 and AS2004.5 listed. Can I get rid of the AS2004 and just leave the AS2004.5? Or do I need both programs on my HD?
June 26, 200520 yr Hi Chad,It's really the fact that you have two entries and not two unique programs. When we released 2004.5 it was programed as a new program for new users, but when used as an update it created 2 entries. Unless you are ready to get rid of both entries I would leave both listed. One set of Start icons can be removed.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
June 29, 200520 yr Further this topic please.I have installed ASV and it is up and running. When I attempt to delete 2004.5 using add/remove programs, I thereafter cannot load ASV due to some file reference that is missing. In looking over the posts etc, I was under the impression that 2004.5 could be removed for purposes of housecleaning and space.Any insight? ThanksDom
June 29, 200520 yr Hi Dom,Yes you can remove AS2004.5. Some common files are also removed though. The fix is to run your Full install of ASV and choose Repair. The missing files will be replaced and you will be good to go!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
