Proxy authentication????

Featured Replies

Hi all,im currently behind a firewall and have to use a proxy server. The proxy however requires authentication as well (i.e. user name and p/w).ASV allows specifying proxy name and port; what about proxy authentication?Thank you in advance.Kind Regards

I can authenticate fine through my Web browser but still in ASV after the 1st kb has been downloaded i am always getting an error message saying "download failed or canceled.will try at next update interval".kind regards

Hello again,i thought the same thing but it seems that in this case it doesnt work. Anyway, thanx for your help and your prompt replies.Kind Regards

Hello, could it be that my proxy's port being 3128 causes the problem?Could you tell me which port ASV uses?I can then talk to the network admin and perhaps sort something out.Thank you.Kind Regards

Hi,Proxy should be set in both IE and ASV options (Proxy Server). You can specify the port in ASV.. (name:port) i.e. myproxy.isp.com:3333 and as Jim mentioned, authenticate via IE. Does this help?

Hello,i' ve tried all the above. The thing is that ASV goes into online mode normally, but it cannot download any weather data (defaulting to 160850Z instead);when the 370K counter appears, after a couple of seconds im getting error message saying Download failed or cancelled, will try at next update interval...i specify proxy and authenticate first in IE, and then run ASV (with proxy specified there as well. Could it be that the firewall wont allow any incoming traffic from your server?Kind Regards
