July 18, 200520 yr I'm running into a boot to desktop problem when I run ActiveSkyV and I'm about 15-30 minutes into my flight. I usually get the following error dialog when I'm dumped to the desktop:Microsoft Flight Simulator 9A fatal error occurredAppName: fs9.exe AppVer: 9.1.0.40901 ModName: util.dllModVer: 9.1.0.40901 Offset: 0000d008The problem does happen frequently, but does NOT happen all the time. So far it has only happened while I've got ActiveSkyV running but I have NOT done enough test flights without ActiveSky running to see if I can duplicate the same problem.I'm good on the hardware/driver side as I've done a ton of diagnostics to make sure all (updated, etc.) is good and since this problem is specific to FS2004 (other big hitters like DOOM3, 1/2 life, etc. have no issues.)I'm about on the verge of a complete re-install of FS9 -- anyone know if FS9 has a "repair" feature?Just thought I'd post here just in case this is a known issue. Thanks, Rob.
July 18, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi,FS9 does not have a repair feature. You may disable scenery, afcad and 3rd party aircraft and test. Alot of ctd are caused from afcad and some scenery.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
July 18, 200520 yr Thanks for the suggestions. At this point it looks like I'll re-install FS9 from scratch. I get BTD even when I'm using MS default AC in MS default scenery. I do have FS Global 2005 installed which adjusts terrain mesh on a global level.Oh well, looks like back to scratch and proceed at the "install one a time" and see which one of these 3rd party add-ons is causing the problem (or combination of add-ons).
