July 27, 200520 yr Spent some time searching but alas I must post. I had to reinstall today (see earlier thread) and I decided to convert Mips before I went to work, so I would come home and take off. I noticed when I started the process my hard drive (brand new) was not making any noise. I did not think much of it until I came home 8 hours later to FE saying Standby...Converting Textures........ $#^! I thought, something weird. I uninstalled everything (related to ASV) per the uninstallation instructions in the manual, then reinstalled ASV w/the SU2. Turned off virus software/Spamware, the whole lot. Hit the button to convert Mips (256 resoultion) and now one hour later, I sit and am looking at the screen Standby...Converting Texures. O.K., guys, what I am doing wrong? What's the next step?? Thanks in advance.
July 27, 200520 yr Commercial Member HI Cameron,Just check in the fs2004texture if the cumulus01.bmp from one of these installed from Active Environment (512x512)=1.33mb, (256x256)=342kb or (64x64)=22kb, if yes; mips are enabled.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
July 27, 200520 yr Chris, I checked the file and it is at 256 KB. I also checked my ini file and it said the fs9path, defaultweatherfolder and lastplanfolder all = ***. I am going to bed. I just did a quick flight and it was fun. Will see you all tomorrow. Thanks to Jim and Chris for the help today (I just love the reinstallation process after I had it all figured just right:9)
July 27, 200520 yr Hi,The fs9path and default weather folder need entries and not ***. You can enter them manually in the .ini file.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
July 27, 200520 yr I entered my fS9 folder for the path and the texture folder for the default weather. I do remember a message from ASV appearing and saying that it appears I might be on a network (I am not) and to make sure the FS9 path is correct. Would this cause any of the problems?
July 27, 200520 yr Hi,Make your lines look like this:(Adjust for your paths)DefaultWeatherFolder = E:FS2004ModulesASVFS9Path = E:FS2004Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Sales and Supporthttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg
