Hello, although i'm a real big fan of active sky, this is already the third time i am writing on this issue, the former times I resolved the problem by reinstalling the whole package, which is somehow a pain. Active radar after a certain time always stops displaying rain and snow, even if it is mentioning rain and precipitation in the tracking reports of active radar, specially after not authorized gauges from freeware planes are trying to access fsuipc and were denied access. I suspect somehow there is a connection between the two things ( who I have to enter an Authorization code into fsuipc to fix that or how could it be resolved, in fact the weather radar is one of the nicer parts of active sky, and it is pity for me if it doesn't work . any ideas?thansk Kurt

Hi Kurt,The next time your guages do not work with FSUIPC please post or send me your FSUIPC.log. I'll see if this stops AR from working. Hi,Those are all good. Will Radar work now? Pete doesn't understand why sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and how a reinstall fixes it. We need to see what is causing Radar to stop working.Edit: Please follow that link over to Pete's forum and add to the discussion. I posted the log in Pete's forum, to see if he sees something abnormal. I understand the conclusions he made, it looks more like for some reason a dll or something else get's hurt. I got the upgrade version of ASV, the install files are in one directory as described in the helpfile, to reinstall, do i have to install everything and reinstall everything? (because ASV uninstalled leaves with Active Sky 4.5) , I also have the newest service update installed, does the ASV INstall include a reinstall of active Radar? Thanks in AdvanceKurt

Hi Kurt,I tried to follow what you wrote in that last paragraph and came up blank, but I'll give it a shot!!1. Once you upgraded you ended up with 2 unique products, AS2004.5 and now ASV. Your system views them as 2 programs, which they are. So you need to treat them as such. So uninstalling one will not remove the other, though some common files will be removed, but that is a different issue. If you remove AS2004.5 and need to reinstall ASV you have the full install of ASV so AS2004.5 will not be needed.2. I tried to reinstall the whole thing now, but the problem remains the same. If I uninstall Active Sky4.5 ASV stops working completely and only comes up with the installer, ( may be an effect of the Windows installer), as I consequence I reinstalled Active Sky 4.5 and ASV over the actual version and the result is still the same, at the moment it doesn't even show weather data in active radar, everything is always at 29.92, 10 C 0 clouds and no winds, I'm a little bit at the end with my ideas now, ASV work awesome and represent for example the change from the weather in Palm Springs to LA and the Coastal Fog and Marine LAyer really awesome, but teh radar somehow is in complete strike now. Any Ideas?KurtKPSP

I'm curious what the fix might have been.I bought and installed ActiveSky V (no previous version present) about a month ago. It worked great for three weeks, and for the past week I get no radar activity, whatsoever, even when I'm flying through pouring rain.Curious if the fix was straightforward.Mark

Jim, (Sorry for the slip in forum protocol.)Yes, everything else seems to work fine. The "Tracking" function is complete and functional; and on the "Situation" function, it correctly knows where I am, it correctly plots the flightplan route, and lables airport; and it gets the relative wind correct. Just nothing in terms of precip. (I've tried both of the display options, as well.)Thanks for you attention.Mark
