August 28, 200520 yr Evening all, Recently due to a night texture problem I had to re-install AEU7 (freeware, found in the library-good addon). The files are a little dates, and what ended up happening is it wrote over ASVs HALO texture file. I tried to repair it by using the update installer repair funciton to no avail.Would it be possible to get the halo.bmp sent to me? Or should I uninstall all the way back to AS2004. (willing to do that, those were some great light textures!)Thanks!-Matt
August 28, 200520 yr Commercial Member Hi, If you want to use the halo from aeu7, you should take the halo from aeu7 only.If you want to use halo from asv, just submit runways light from active environment interface, no need re-install at all.Ps: You may experiment lowerstutters performance with AEU7 since the files are up to 5x10x bigger size then default.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
August 31, 200520 yr Hi Matt, I have a night texture problem too and I would like to know what was exactly your night texture problem, what was it looking like? Mine is like every aircraft AI and all my own aircrafts are dark with let's say no texture visible during the night the same goes for the ramp, taxiways and runways!!! As I was reading your post I realized that there where some similarities and I had already the halo.bmp file in my head as the issue of the problem but I'm not 100% sure.thanks in advance for your helpMarc
August 31, 200520 yr Commercial Member HI Marc,-I think your case is different if I understand, it is related to the night sky, try to use Fixed Night: 02 normal 01 (it may fix the problem for Matthew as well)-Halo are only for the runways light, not others night area in fs.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
September 1, 200520 yr Chris,Thanks alot for the hint, I will check that out but just tell me what Fixed night is and where can I find it? Maybe in fs9.cfg?Regards,Marc
September 1, 200520 yr Commercial Member HI Marc,You have Asv right? it's in active environment button, this interface contains tons of texture...fixed night are sky color for night, just see in the sky color area.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
September 2, 200520 yr Ok Chris now I think I understand and know why somethimes the problem seem to be fixed and a then suddenly appears again because I'm in ICS + Random Sky/Env mode (BTW Chris, what do you think is the best mode in Startup AE selection mode?)under the option button so ASV chose of course randomly (night) textures for sky, clouds ect., but If I choose the night fix in AE will it than not change in random mode automatically everytime I start up ASV? Anyway, thanks Chris for your help ;-)Regards,Marc
September 3, 200520 yr Commercial Member HI Marc,To keep your prefered sky color and environment (except clouds), use in the startup mode ICS + Last Sky/Env mode, this mode will only use ics and keep your manual sky and environment selection from the active environment. If you use ICS + Random Sky/Env mode , sky color and env section will always be in random.ThanksChris WillisHiFi Simulation Software Team Developerhttp://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_dev_team.jpg http://www.hifisim.com/images/asv_proud_supporter.jpg Kind RegardsChris Willis
