This stinks, I'm trying to fly in a hurricane, KMSY an the weather is freaking 6 hours old! ActiveSky wxRE 1.92 (Fs2002 Pro)

Hi,I got the 2200Z weather from the 28th. When a cat 5 hurricane is in your backyard you do not sit around collecting data, you get out! Hi Dan,When a station temporarily closes, we have no ability to fetch data from it. Apparently in this case the FS9 system updated itself with some data a little more recently than ASV did (by chance), then the station shutdown. If the station had been up for another 5 minutes before shutting down, for example, ASV probably would have updated it with the same weather you see on the FS9 system.I'm sure if you look at other stations in the area you'll find some where ASV has more current weather. It can appear quite random in this regard.Hurricanes are something we've been working on recently.. we are attempting to simulate them realistically without the need to fetch data from (erroneous/old/closed) METAR stations. This can be done with official textual hurricane forecast data, where our server system will synthesize and generate corresponding "virtual" METAR reports to match the appropriate expected conditions for a given time period based on the hurricane's intensity, position and track.The real problem with hurricane simulation is that FS9's weather system is station based, and we can only control weather at valid FS9 weather stations. Most areas contain plenty of gaps where the weather would unfortuantely appear inconsistent outside of such local FS9 station areas. We have been attempting to create our own FS9 stations for some time now, and have made some progress, but at this time it may be better to wait for the next FS version which may make this easier.In short we are working on better hurricane representation along with other new realistic wx effects (microburst, lenticulars, mountain waves, tornadoes, etc.).In the mean time, if you wish to simulate hurricane conditions, we can recommend using the Wx Configurator utility... there is already a hurricane theme included, or you can create your own desired conditions..Best,

What really is amazing is that people around the Gulf states are worried about surving though the day, having their homes and everything else they own destroyed, and someone gets totally unglued because the weather on his flight sim is 6 hours old. That's really "over the top"...... :)
