High altitude haze pop-up

Featured Replies

Don't really know if that would be a FS limitation, but using ASV I get occassional sudden haze pop-up when flying at jet cruise altitudes.Flying at, say, FL330 I get max visibility of 50 NM with clear depiction of the horizon, then in a blink of an eye it pops in hazy, so I can barely see the earth below.I am using Flight1 FE as well, but that should not have anything to do with it, right?below, please find my ASV cfg file for your reference,Thanks and have a great day,Dom//ASV configuration file Build 314[General]WindowPosX = 495WindowPosY = 495DefaultWeatherFolder = D:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9ModulesASVSuppressionCeiling = 2000SurfaceWindLimit = 10FS9Path = D:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9CloudLayerLimit = 3LocalSuppressionRange = 100MinimumVisibility = 0MaximumVisibility = 49LastPlanFolder = NONEAutoVasFrequency = 40AEStartupMode = 3IncreasedWake = FalseDisableWindsAloft = FalseDisableRandomLightSelect = FalseFavorCumulus = FalseUnpauseOnReadyStatus = FalseForceTstormsWithCB = FalseAutoSetFSTime = TrueAutoConvertPlanFiles = FalseAutoRefreshAI = TrueDisableVisGraduation = FalseAutoSaveAETheme = TrueOfflinePlayback = FalseEnableVAS = TrueAutoGenVAS = TrueForceDestinationWeatherZone = FalsePreventIcing = TrueOnlineUpdates = TrueExtendedDestinationWindsForce = FalseDisableAllGroundUpdates = FalseGlobalWrites = FalseDepictFS9HazeLayer = FalseExtendTstormLayers = TrueDisableDirectWindControl = FalseVoicePlayback = FalseLocalSuppression = TrueStartupSound = FalseDisableGroundUpdates = TrueUseProxyServer = FalseFogLayerGeneration = FalseUpdateSuppression = TrueOvercastEnhancement = TrueIgnoreFSReadyStatus = TrueFSUIPCWindSmoothing = TrueLimitSurfaceWinds = FalseLimitCloudLayers = TrueAutoGlobalWriteToggle = TrueRainWithTS = TrueDisableUpperLayerGeneration = FalseVisibilitySmoothing = TrueDisableMessages = TrueAutoTimeZoneDetection = TrueUpdateInterval = 10VATSIMData = FalseZuluConversion = 2AloftPredictability = 100WindDriftRate = 0MaxCloudThickness = 10000MinStratusSeparation = 7000TAFProcessing = FalseEnforceVisibilityLimits = TrueWakeTurb = TrueStartPaused = TrueUseSystemTime = TrueDisableCAVOKClouds = FalseProxyAddress = NONE

I would have to check this up.I was not opening the ASV interface when this has happened.I will try to reproduce it again and then check the visibility values.ThanksDom

OK, here's the update:I am flying at 12000ft and have unlimited visibility in METAR (it says CAVOK) and it looks like this through the window,Now, descending for the final approach, all of a sudden it gets hazy, so I look at the ASV interface and the local weather is CAVOK too.Does it have anything to do with the update supression you reckon?ThanksDom

Thanks Jim,I will install the update for sure.Would it make sense to put the update supression to 0?Would it get rid of the problem? And for the analog versus digital - LOL, I have no idea why I am using it. Just happened, that I plugged it in and it works, so it never got to me that Ishould change it, LOL.Thanks mate,Dom
